Zulkarnain Sadali. I'm nineteen but I tend to forget so I unknowingly tell people I'm eighteen. Ridiculous, I know. I'm a rockstar in between the sets, no eyeliner and cigarettes. Life is magical, but its not so fantastic. Oh.

A student in Temasek Polytechnic's IIT School, majoring in Interactive Media Informatics, (IMI) with intentions of making it in the Media industry, a far cry from anything in IT. But I'm open to its possibilities.

I like to leave a little mystery in everything I type, and certain times I do not like to be obvious. I rather speak in tounges and cryptically because that's how I roll. But I always stand by my beliefs.

Just like Hannah Montana, I get the best of both worlds. I like fun but I don't mix anything together. Except when socialising though. Anything goes.

I'm a good boy, most of the times. Of course I shan't deny. I can be a real devil.

I repeat, I stand by my beliefs. If you don't like it, then you should put a red X on it.

Surprised? This is my 33rd layout. The 41-month long run of DONT-CHA.blogspot.com spawned many layouts, from graphic art to vectors, to very narcissistic ones.

The layout is based on Lady GaGa's video, Poker Face. The layout goes hand-in-hand in promoting her debut album, The Fame.

Goodbye, For A Year

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/DSC01596.jpg
The image's blur because... Well, just because. Our other image together was also in similar condition. Blur. And Wen Hao's not the one to take photos, thus I appreciate a blur one.

He is my friend Wen Hao. He always pisses me off. He pokes fun at me about my weight, my intelligence and most irritatingly of all... He pokes fun at me being me.

But that's the thing that I love most about him. I have no idea why, but I'm never angry when he makes fun of me because I know he doesn't mean it. Though slowly I've started to rethink that idea. Hah.

He's leaving Singapore later, 12.30am, and I'm gonna miss him a hell lot. Even though I haven't seen him over a year, him leaving Singapore is like a confirmation that I won't be able to see him for a year.

"This is my last chance to see you before you leave. I don't care," in a message I sent to him.

I went all the way to Dover to meet him.

But I couldn't come empty-handed.

I thought of so many gift ideas for him. He was very fond of the Rubik's Cube, and then it hit me. I should do a hybrid!

And to the drawing board I went.

(If you are clueless to what a Rubik's Cube is, this is it.)
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009022.jpg

STEP 1: With FreeHand, I laid out the images as tiles...
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/workingwenhao1.jpg

And read if you want, my letter to him.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/workingwenhao2.jpg
And yes, that's you, Geri! (can you even read it, btw?)

STEP 2: Go print it on GLOSSY sticker paper. Cost about $2 for an A4 size.

STEP 3: Cut each group first.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009019.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009020.jpg

STEP 4: Cut each individual tiles and place them in an orderly manner before pasting.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009024.jpg
(yes, that's a photo of Wen Hao smiling like an ass after I told him to smile)

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009025.jpg

STEP 5: Paste lovingly. Mainly because if you buy a cheap cube, the coloured tiles (that are pasted for you) are not pasted properly.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009023.jpg

STEP 6: Do all the sides...

and WALLAH! Its complete!
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009027.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/wenhaogift/30032009028.jpg

When I passed the cube to him, I said, "MEMORISE. QUICK." So he did, (I think) and then I grabbed the cube back and shuffled it so that he can solve it. Plus I didn't want him to read the letter side with me there. Shy laa.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/30032009031.jpg
Wen Hao playing it. HAHAHA.
(thanks Josie for the pic)

He later smsed me, "Solved. More difficult lah." and he's damn expert at Rubik's. Trust me.

I'll miss you man. I wonder where you'll be when you read this.

Mayhem
Saturday, February 28, 2009 8:14 pm

[SDC10208th.jpg]
You add us up and its mayhem.

I still remember his flat hair and her slightly longer flow-ish one. (And fecking hell I look like a mess)

Sarah Regina Edward seemed cool to me the first time when I met her. She was always so loud and active. Cheerful at best and never looked sad. But when I got to know her, no like when I REALLY got to know her.

She was IS a train wreck!

Bumping into things left and right, rolling down the stairs... She is (and probably will always be) a nutcase. But I love her for it. And many times, its her clumsiness and her blonde-ish remarks that cheers me up.

But the thing that struck me the most was her ability to support someone, in whatever that they wanna do. And she's been there for me and quite frankly, I can't appreciate her more, she's one of my best friends.

She's smart, she's loyal and truth be told, she's marvellous. She's a girl who has the drive to drive everyone insane but at the same time, reassure you that you're gonna be fine. Sarah is a rare specimen, a diamond in the sand.

Sarah Regina Edward is an amazing friend. Happy 18th Birthday, my dear.

Won Hui Bo is an influence. A good or bad one, I'm not quite sure.

But one thing I know is that Bo has always pushed me to do things that... Well, Zul wouldn't do. Perhaps be a little bit more braver than I'm already am, or to be a little less complacent and go far.

When I first saw him, to be honest, I never thought he was prominent. I thought he would just be my classmate and that was it. Mainly because at that time, I was hanging out with someone else, but things switched, and I became closer with Bo.

Bo has become more of a blessing really. He's tech-savvy (and by that I mean he can dismantle a computer and build a better one after that) but aside to that, he's a true friend. True, he lies when telling the time, but one thing I can take note is that he will never let someone down unless he has to come to it.

Bo has been some sort of a confidante to me and sometimes I feel like I could've been a better friend to him because he maintains composure when pre-masturbatory syndrome (or PMS) gets the best of me.

Even more than that, Bo has opened my eyes to another world that I only thought existed in my imagination, a world more apparent to him and less attractive to me. And we're talking beyond technology.

You're a friend first, Bo. And you are one of my best friends, you know that?

Won Hui Bo, en route to 18, happy belated birthday. 1st January for the win.

I love you guys. Equally. If not, Sarah a little bit more. HAHA.

And in other news... he is Danish!

I Kissed A Boy
Saturday, September 27, 2008 1:06 pm

I made the poster, damn cool laa. It was supposed to be a shirt, but one, I don't know if he'd wear it and two, I had no cash and time. SADWoRxxX!

It's been quite a while since I've actually done a dedication post for someone. And no, the title is not what my friend and I have been doing, I'm actually referencing Cobra Starship's parody of I Kissed A Girl.

But I digress...

I guess I never really told the readers here how I met Luqman. I mean, he's like the few people whom I actually remembered how the friendship began (e.g. Hairul & Amber was at Orientation Camp, Amirul through my old blog and then Singapore Idol etcetera).

Initially, to be honest... I had no recollection of knowing Luqman, at all. LOL.

Regardless, Luqman refreshed my memory and typically, like the occasionally self-indulgent person that I am, I was actually complaining to him about my woes of being a band member. He just sat there and listened. This was when I was 14, secondary two. He already left Bedok North Sec (BNSS) for Si Ling Sec. He visited BNSS and he was there to listen to me complain. How nice.

A year later (or around that period of time) Luqman and I began contacting each other once again and we clicked. From then on, we chatted every single day and it really made me feel like I was really his friend. Even though by then we were in different schools.

As time progresses, I felt that Luqman was someone I could really confided in. I began opening up to him and I felt very comfortable talking to him about a lot of things. True that he was very apprehensive about opening up to me initially. However with friends, you gotta start somewhere.

Trivia: Luqman recommended Interactive Media Informatics as one of the choices for the polytechnic courses and that ended up being my first appeal choice. Cool huh.

Trivia 2: Luqman introduced me to a whole new music genre (and a huge collection of artists and musicians) that I totally am in love with now (e.g. Panic & Cobra)

Eventually he began to open up to me too and that itself became a new experience in the friendship that we share. It was really refreshing and as time passed, he (kinda) never held back with his thoughts. Which was awesome, I feel.

I know I mentioned Luqman in quite a number of posts but I guess I never really highlighted why I truly consider him a great friend.

I can really talk to him about anything under the sun and there's practically little or no topics that we have to avoid. He's like one of the two friends that I can talk to without any inhibitions at all. When I talk to Luqman, I can talk to him about anything and I know at the end of the conversation, he won't judge me.

That's what I call an amazing friend. I know that once I've found a friend that is so understanding, I should learn to treasure the friendship, and no doubt, I really do.

But the best thing ever about my very good friend, Luqman, is that he is one of the few people that will support whatever I choose to do and I know will always be there to back me up if I fall. He won't say it but I know. I just know.

As much as I like having endless nonsensical chatter with the chap (our MSN convos are FTLOLs!), but when we actually talk about something substantial, its a whole other scenario.. This guy, Luqman, is destined for amazing things and I can see him showered with sucess, no doubt.

Luqman, you have so much potential and remember, make that talent of yours grow because you are one hell of a person with so much gift in the brain and heart. I will, always, support what you choose to do and know that if you fall, bro, I will always be there to kick your ass so hard, you'll be standing stronger than before.

Dude, you're amazing. Know that everything you have done for me (and more), have changed something about myself, drastically, one way or another.

Happy birthday, my friend.

(Oh and Luqman, I LOVE USING YOU to get readers. *please note sarcasm here and please don't comment, "you're welcome", you ass*. BTW, I have a strong feeling he'll sms me saying thanks but he won't say anything else after reading this. I just know)

Plus, this is post number 800. Happy birthday again, my very very best(est) friend.

*A jolt of temporary intelligence strikes Luqman!*

Grow Weak

[michelle's+bday.jpg]
Before I start today's post, (I was supposed to update this yesterday but I dozed off while working on my Visual Literacy project and came to at 5 am.) Happy Belated Chelle! :D

Hey lil'sis! Don't go crazy yet! You know your ass ain't eighteen!

I won't be updating on this even but you can check out her blog. Go click on her face on the side bar!

[fariza+gift.jpg]
Also, Fariza bought me something special; unavailable in Singapore, it's these flip-flops! I LOVE FARIZA! I saw it on Song Yan back at the airport in April and threatened to cut his feet off for thse flip-flops! Now I don't have to!

Fariza thought I would scream if I found out she got me these. You all can tell she wasn't wrong.

On a sadder note, Granddad is not doing fine at all. He's... Sadly, deteriorating. I know it's a matter of time, I don't know when, but I have to cancel all outings for this week. I might try my best to make for some, but Friday is simply impossible. I'll go prayers, finish up some work and go straight to the hospital.

Sorry Nazri. :(

Anyway, please do keep him in your prayers okay? :)

Sauce In A Bottle
Thursday, June 05, 2008 9:26 pm

Anyway, for the record, everyone will TOU Computer Systems. TOU TO THE MAX.
(TOU means to fall. Or in this case fail. Or die. Which ever comes first.)
All except Bo, most probably.

Still, poly life has been good, not the best, but good. It's, for sure, given me a lot of new experiences, some of which have made me even more independent and responsible. I'm happy.

[poly_SDC10207.jpg]
I love teasing her. It makes me feel better about myself. LOL! Sarah Regina Edward is the girl with the volatile/versatile face and she's such a dream to be with. Noisy and never quiet. Unless something's up. HAHA. I love this girl. She's ulitmate fun-ness and her facial expressions is equivalent to a Beyonce concert. Pure satisfaction for you to enjoy. The sights and sounds of Sarah you can't find anywhere else. She's really one in a million.

[poly_Photo+109.jpg]
Michelle my belle! :D This crazy girl, I can't wait for the day she pull her braces out. It's getting on my nerves. HAHA! I tell you; these are my people. They're never quiet. I confide in Michelle with juicy details (not really laa) but she's someone I can turn to when I need to talk; like real bad. Especially in class, right, Chelle? HAHA. I do hope she and her boyfriend lasts. And I really hate that WHORE, don't we? Oozing from Macky, much? HAHA.

[Poly-photo+252.jpg]
"Welcome to Thailand" was the theme of this photo. Bo has been a very fun person to be with. Ever since day one. He was open to me and that made everything very comfortable between the two of us. I think you can easily say out of anyone in the class, he's the one I'm closest with. Bo is basically one of those people that have made the seven weeks of my life pass by with such ease. HAHA. There were times he'd get on my nerves, but I get back on his right away. There's no one quite like Bo! And the infamous quote, "I'm not like these whores chasing you!" HAHA!

[poly-DSC01471.jpg]
If my course choice was a mistake, blame it on Luqman. My friend of (God knows accurately how many) years convinced me to take up this course because he plainly said, "They use Macs," and I was sold. HAHA. Luqman has been the person I confide to about... Well anything. From my A's to my Z's to my highs and my lows. I still blame him for brainwashing me to this course. HAHA. Well, I don't. Mainly because it's through him that I find happiness in TP, the course and my new friends.

So there you have it. The comaraderie I've earned in the past seven weeks. Of course, I want to get closer to all my classmates. But it's these three that just stood out the most. And Luqman, my friend/coursemate, has just done a lot more for me than he got credit for.

Thanks; fantastic four, much? :D

P/S: And this is how you keep your friends. You love them. Not backstab them and make use of them. Take notes.

Calls Mean A Lot
Wednesday, May 21, 2008 10:21 pm

Today, I decided to go to HMV Heeren to get Kelly's new single, Daylight. When I was en route, I suddenly thought of a place at Somerset where I used to sit with an old friend of mine, Ismail.

Quite frankly, he and I were really close. I tell him everything and so did he. We were as close as two friends could be. When I reached my stop, I thought to myself, for old time's sake, I want to visit the place I used to hang out with him till late in the night.

[DSC08841th.jpg]
The place was at the Singtel building at Somerset.

When I reached, I kept thinking about the good times we had there. We would buy takeaway food and bring there to eat and talk for hours. Literally talk for hours. We'd meet and try to shop, but because we rarely meet, all we wanted to do was just talk.

Ismail has been there through my tough times, like the time I had a tiff with Dad. That was a whole lot of drama.

How we met was really... Fate. You can say that. I met him at my previous job as an airport guide and once we exchanged words, we hit it off right there and then.

One day, I had no idea why, but we disconnected. Seriously disconnected. No text messages, I never saw him online and no calls were made. It was really heartbreaking to have a friend left without a goodbye.

You can imagine how I felt when I was at the Singtel building, reminiscing to myself about the friendship we had.

I left the place - thank God I didn't burst out in tears (knowing how much of an emotional wreck I am) but I thought to myself...

Maybe I should give him a call. Maybe.

After purchasing the CD, I decided to call. Just as I've guessed, no answer. It's okay. I didn't expect much.

Moments later, (I seriously thanked God,) he replied! I was beyond happy! My friend that I have never talked to for months finally answered!

He told me he was unavailable and told me to call back later at 7 p.m.

So I waited at Coffee Bean Wheelock.

When I called, it was as huge of a deal as the returning of Spice Girls! We just gushed out months of absence and it was like old times. We talked for over twenty minutes. I couldn't careless about the amount of airtime used. I just wanted to talk to my friend.

I loved that feeling. Two friends, very close friends, reunited. The feeling was amazing. I then suggested he should come over and we could talk even more.

I swear, once he sat, a million and one topics were said. That's the type of friendship that I honestly love. I can't stop saying it, really, but he really means the world to me (just as much as my best friends laa!)

We talked until 9.15 p.m., approximately two hours.

I somehow had a strong feeling he was at Orchard. He felt the same way when I called. My gut feelings are on its game!

[DSC08844th.jpg]
Somehow, every time we take pictures, it's in the bad light, so we headed for a toilet. HAHA. And he keeps saying how buffed he looks because now he's in Dragon Boat. PSSHHH!

And damn, I learned a very good lesson.

Never take your friends for granted. Always try your best to maintain a strong bond, or else your friend is just a number in your phonebook you never call.

We now make it a point to meet every week because we're really brothers. I look up to him and I know I can confide in him about anything at all. I care not about the people around us and I just express what I want to say. He can take it and I swear, anyone that can take my random complaints and overly exaggerated emotional bullcrap is a true friend.

Ismail, I really thank God that we met. I mean it. You really are a brother to me.

And can you like not totally go away and lose contact with the world! LOL!

Oh, and I'm proud. He came from ITE and now in Poly!

GOOOO ISMAIL!

Picture Of You

Original photo here: CLICK!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAIRUL! :D :D :D

Bro! You're finally eighteen! Now I know being the good person that you are, you won't go wilding out like me (haha, I'll tell you that later) so here's a list of things we can do to celebrate the first few days of your eighteenth year on God's green Earth!

1) Sentosa
YES! We should plan a huge outing and head for Sentosa. I feel like going to the beach cos it's so awesome to just people watch. Oh! And I wanna take the Observation Tower that spins round and round and round! I just hope we won't get busy.

2) Lunch/Dinner at some fancy restaurant
You know we need this. You still owe me a meal. HAHAHA

3) Ice Skating at that new Kallang Place!
Since both of us roller blade before, we should seriously go here. It's something new, I haven't tried it as well, but it should be fun. I've heard many stories saying that place is the shxt (cost like shxt too) but hey, there's a first time for everything.

Aside from that, Hairul, thanks for being a true friend, from the littlest things that you do to the most life changing advice you have given me, thanking you or expressing my gratitude is simply not enough.

I'm not kidding when I say, you're the only one that supports me in everything that I do and even when things seems to be in the shxt hole, you're still there to back me up. You're the one that I look for when I'm in doubt, the one that I know that will be there for me regardless of the situation, so thanks. Really.

You have become a part of my life, a brother to me. Now that we're in different schools, I just hope that we can retain the closeness to one another even with a new circle of friends we each will obtain.

In the sixth year of the friendship, you know my ins and outs and you know what really goes on in my mystery.

Thank you for your never ending support, know that I will always support you in whatever you do too.

(and I still have a problem with spelling, like omgosh!)

Note: this was supposed to be posted yesterday but I wasn't fast enough to complete the cartoon. HAHA, plus I went out yesterday for a new haircut at TONI&GUY. :D

Thinking about my upcoming eighteenth birthday, it was only recently that I thought about reminiscing instead of just planning parties and going out to have fun. The idea of looking back is to be reminded of the good times, to be reminding that the lessons learnt are good, never bad regardless of how messy the situation might be.

[00+-+not+sure+when.jpg]
My late grandma, Mummy, Kak Yati (holding me) and Sis

I was told I was a big baby. Wow, isn't that a surprise. Weighing 3.54 kilograms when I was born, I really didn't think I'd last this long. As a kid, supposedly I was living in Yishun (up north, if you don't know) and go to school in the east at Eunos Primary. When I tell people the story of my childhood, they began asking questions, "how come so far?"

[1995+-+K1.jpg]
When I was five years old, K1.

When I grew older a bit, I didn't live with my parents. Sadly. It was alright though. I lived with my late grandmother, and from there I think it was where the eccentricity came from. I lived with a crazy uncle and his sister, along with my grandfather. They took me in since I was in nursery all the way up to primary two, in 1998. (I don't recall the year, but Mum insist she remembers everything.)

But I was lucky though. Even before moving, Mum and Dad always made it a point to bring sis and I out to places like Haw Par Villa. It was for them to remind me that they still care even though they were so far away.

[1994.jpg]
Cute right? Taken at my house in Yishun.
"i love you, you love me. Barney passed me HIV. With a great big hug, he wanted a little more. Pervert purple dinosaur."

The house at Yishun was ever so cozy. It was a three-room flat but it was spacious. Regardless, whenever sis and I slept over at Yishun, we'd share the same bed. I remembered having my very own personal space at the balcony. It had a swing and I'd sit on it just to think about stuff, kid stuff of course. When you're a kid, you only think of fun and craziness. No kind of drama here.

My formal wear, oh so lovely.

Mum would always spend money on me. Clothes, toys, computer. But one thing she didn't do was to spoil me. Every time I wanted something, she would tell me, "I have no money. Sorry." I would get upset but not to the point of throwing a tantrum. I admit, as a child, I have said the most mean thing,

"Parents lie. They have a lot of money. They are just selfish."

Still up till today, I regret saying that (perhaps the only thing I'm regretful of) because as a kid, what totally left me grounded was that I picked up my mum's wallet, open it up and really saw no money inside. Only coins. From then on, I just decided not to be a spoilt brat. I just asked for a Happy Meal. It was cheap and I got a free toy.

Even up till today, I sometimes dare not ask for money to go out. That's why sometimes I go out cashless.

Mum and Dad decided to move to Bedok Reservoir in 1998 so that they could live with us instead of us having to switch schools. Mum was also working in Kallang and Dad had to come back and forth to the airport, so moving was a smart move.

[2002.jpg]
Ez-link card photo; 2002

I remembered when 2000 came and I was sitting in the kitchen at midnight alone. Mum was working, Dad was working too and sis was fast asleep. I couldn't sleep because I believed rumours that the world was ending at the stroke of midnight, unknowingly a party was going on less than 20 kilometers away. Kids believe everything you tell them.

[2003+-+1H+foodfight.jpg]
The food fight back in 2003 where seriously, I'd rather be able to slap the food on someone's face than my own.

When secondary school started in 2003, honestly, I was psyched! I was so excited and so ready to meet new people. There was something about my friends in primary school that made me so evasive when I see them in public. Perhaps I wasn't treated the best when I'm there, but when in primary school and you're different, you're bound to have people poking sticks at you.

Still, I made quite a bunch of friends. Most of them taught me life lessons, never to trust them again. I'm lucky in the sense that even at a tender age of thirteen, I was still able to take life lessons and learn from it - then move on.

[2004+w+amber.jpg]
Amber made me swear not to take a photo of him. It was only a year later (2004) that he gave in.

Still lucky, I met two of my closest best friends there, at orientation camp. Hairul and Amber. Both of which I share particularly crazy memories with even at the very first day. With Amber though, it wasn't really crazy, it was just that we clicked the very moment we spoke to each other. With Hairul however, ask me on msn. HAHA. I blogged about it but I can't seem to find that post.
[2004+-+hairul&me001.jpg]
The very first photo of me and my BBFF. :D

In 2003, if you don't know, I stupidly enrolled myself in Band and the following year, I found love in Drama club. Be ready for the next photo because I think you're gonna pee in your pants.

[2004+-+musicalnite001.jpg]
See, I told you that you were gonna pee in your pants. FUGLY MAKE-UP!

Whoever said I loved make-up is a liar. I fxckingly hate make-up. I love theater, but I'm no Chinese opera. Still, (like in 2003) life was never ending with drama (as in real life drama, not the CCA) and people were still dogging me out. In 2005, I found the friends that I actually thought I would keep for the rest of my life.

[2005+-+hari+raya+at+my+house.jpg]
At one point in time, they were the closest thing I ever had.

They were really a great bunch of people. They were just the five of them and they decided to take me in. Don't ask me how it really began because I myself can't picture it. One thing led to another and I told myself to get to a point whereby I get close to each and everyone of them.

I guess I was successful. However, it was something that made everything crack. Surprisingly, it was me. However, it was someone else in the group that made the crack simply... Suicidal. Still, up till today, I can't change the fact that they were some great people.

I am still BBFFs with Hairul even through all the drama, no worries. I told you I was lucky.

I could have written so many things if I was given another hour or so, but I have basically given away a gist of my life. For about 18 years, I've learnt the true meaning of friendship, trust and self-esteem. I didn't write much about the latter, but let me tell you, I was also afraid of the camera in the past. So scared, all because I...

Didn't know how to smile.

Still, I was, am, and always will be lucky. I don't know if I should credit it all to luck, because for most of the good things that happened, I worked for it. Luck has just made it seemed that what I worked for materialized.

God will never give you what you cannot handle. Through out all the drama that I faced since I was a kid, God gave me one hell of a challenge. I'm lucky in the sense that I have wonderful friends, after shooting all the ones that really made my life hell, and shooting the ones that I really couldn't trust. As for family, I'm lucky, in the sense that I learnt so many valuable things and many times I made mistakes but my family always gives me a chance although they are the type to make you feel guilty regardless.

[2008.jpg]
2008, almost there.

Turning eighteen doesn't make me feel more of a man. It just means that I lived for eighteen years. And that I can enter clubs. But still, I think I've achieved far more than any other boy my age has. Experience, to me, makes me know that I am a man.

When I was a kid, I was never told I couldn't do any specific thing. That's why when I was growing up, I believed that I could do whatever the hell I want. That's when I realized that for me, the sky wasn't the limit. I have no limits. (and I mean the good type of 'no limits'.)

I can't really blame it on luck. God just has a thing for me. I guess when you work, He rewards.

This is by far the most personal and most indepth post for me. My birthday is coming soon. A post dedicated to me is I think the best way to go. :) For a deeper post, let's wait three more years. Goodnight loves.

P/S: this year, gifts are not important. I really just wanna spend time with the ones I love. If I tell you I want to go out with you, that means I really love you. It isn't a compulsion for you to go, but just know that you have a special place in my heart, regardless what you bring on my eighteenth.

P/M/S: if you do have a lot of money to spare, this is the post to look for. CLICK. Btw, I already have a Rubik's Snake.

Sometimes I can't really explain what I'm feeling. It's like you keep me grounded and sane but at the same time, it's only with you that all my craziness flush out faster than you can say gesundheit!

You're like those rare few that totally accept my flaws and help me to be better. Your words of wisdom still surprise me up till today, lashing all the immature seniors around you.

Sometimes I don't think my life can be normal (or at least balanced) without you. Every time I question about myself, you always tell me to stay positive and to look on the better things in life. For that, I really thank you.

Honestly, there's a million more things I can say to you - I just can't put it in words.

I love you, Ridhwan Razali. You're really my little brother. And in the period of apporximately a year, you have become more than a friend, you've somehow caught some of my DNA and you're really what I call family.

Happy birthday, my little brother. May you grow up and not be as crazy as I am (even though signs show that you are as crazy and in three years you'll be two times crazier than I am).

Sista lurp Hazimah, happy belated birthday to you too okay. I would put our first photo but both of us looked to young and ridiculous. Plus we never really had a fabulous photo together, so when we do, I'll put it up. It really sucks eh? HAHAHAH. We should go for a photoshoot laa can? HAHAHAH

And like I've said before, you're the sister in school, when the one at home isn't around, that protects me even though you're exposed to danger. So thank you. I'm very blessed to have met you and I think you're a phenomenal person.

Great things will happen to you. :)

I love you! :D and you know what, I want to eat ice cream caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan? :D

Happy belated birthday, and I hope the poster of Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller is keeping you company all night long. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

YES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

I AM BACK!

Work was fun; really. Mainly because of the colleagues that I met along the way. I'll miss all of the great ones. I didn't managed to get a picture with all of them but just so you know, I will miss all of them. LIKE A LOT. I reached home at about 3 a.m. after clearing stocks at Expo and let me tell you, the exhibitors left the place in a hot ass mess.

(L to R) Shaun, Joakim, Alex, Zhee Loong and Eugene

Here are the special few that have made working at SITEX 2007 an unforgettable one.

[DSC07217.jpg]

This picture looks dead wrong, but whatever. Joakim is a know-it-all and what's amazing is that he is very modest about it. Most of the time he will probably digress about something but actually he's like a walking wikipedia. I mean seriously. I thought I was one but he can go on and on and on for hours. I myself read wikipedia but not like this guy. He's a smart-ass (and not in a 'oh-my-gosh-im-better-that-you kind) but he really wants to give all that he's got. I try my best to pay attention to every word but my short term memory loss takes over me everytime. Still; he can talk my brains out.

[DSC07201.jpg]

My expression is dead wrong - Alex looks fine. For some reason I always confuse his name's with Shaun. Regardless, Alex laughs at everything I say. I said something funny that day, it was, "Ni Mama Me-yo Mao" which means, "Your mother has no hair" and he laughed. (I actually knew that quote from a long time ago) From then on he laughed at every single thing I said. Still, Alex is great company and good luck for NS and say bye to the hair. He's amiable and has a nice presence. I still can't get over the fact that he told me to get up on stage with my microphone and say the above mentioned sentence.

[DSC07204.jpg]

Eugene - to a certain extent I could relate to him. He's nice to talk to and let's just say, he entertains my nonsense (and damn, these few pics, I look really dark) and he's a damn flirt. HAHA! At least that's what the other guys bxtch about him to me. HAHA. They say he entertains all the female customers like hell. Still he's a very nice guy regardless of whatever the others bxtch about. HAHA. He's just superfriendly, okay?

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....

SARGENT THO ZHEE LOONG!

He looks as though he's my age, or probably younger. However, this bloke here is 20 years old. I KNOW RIGHT?! When I first met him, I wanted to ask, "O LEVELS' HOW?" Then he told me his age. My jaws dropped. I think he looks younger than all of us (in the first photo, seriously). In the short yet long week that I spent with working with various people, I can honestly say he's the one that I am the closest with. I don't know. He's like a brother to me, you know. He's super nice and he really takes care of my welfare. HAHA.

I'm not kidding. Once I said, "Being the only Malay [guy] here freaks me out. I've never felt so left out. At least you make me feel like I'm not alone." He truly is one remarkable guy and I don't think I'll forget him.

Of course there are the other colleagues that have made working pleasurable. Faces like Natasha, Iz, Mastura and others were so welcoming. They deserve a round of applause. I don't know what to say if I don't see them again. Hopefully one day.

There were the weird ones.

The Trinity; or the Harry Potters, are the weird kind.

Harry Potter #1. He talks as though he has a fixation. He thinks he's talking like some professor but he looks like he's chewing with his mouth open. That's how he looked like. And you know what. I had to emcee, so I had to talk like a machine gun and play loud music to attract customers. He would have the tendacy to turn it down. That's one. Two, he opened up a sealed headphone (for the customers to buy) and used it to block the noise and three, when he was told not to do so, he stuffed tissues in his ears. Fxcking weird laa this fella.

Harry Potter #2. He just has a fxcking weird laugh.

Harry Potter #3. He is the weirdest. I was the emcee and I had to make annoncement, quick and very convincing. He would always compliment me and for the first few times, I got very touched and pleased. Once it reached the seventh time, I wanted to explode. I was wearing my tote bag and he saw it. He said, "Your bag reminds me of my bag!" I looked at him and said, "You wear a tote bag too?" He's like, "oh, I mean the colour."

So fxcking random. He's lisp but that's fine. He does have a pseudo Chinese-American accent which by the way is soooooooo unconvincing.

Regardless, working has made me realised earning money is not easy. One hour of work = one lunch meal. And that's it. From work, I truly learnt the values of money. Topping up with my own cash and realising that's all I have. I guess I won't be splurging. My last job was all about fun. This job was fun, though part-time, it's a real job.

I hated the job and I want to better myself and go to polytechnic and get a better education. I don't want to be stuck as a part-timer counting stocks and doing such crap. I'm going to do something I love.

I'm glad I came to this revelation. I finally see daylight, people. I think the reason why I saw this was because I'm not money-hungry. I mean, many people get off O levels to find jobs only to spend spend spend. I went to find work with the mindset of looking for experience and killing time. So how much pay I get won't be of essence to me.

Besides. I already know I earned quite a huge sum. Not enough to support ALL my needs and wants but still, it's sufficient to feed the important quota first.

I didn't exactly say what my job was. Ladies and gentlemen (that's my current phrase) as mentioned here, I was initially doing stock checking. Then to Expo for sales and then halfway, my talents were recognized and I became the emcee. I earn a little bit more than my colleagues because (in their own words) I'm largely responsible for attracting customers from a distance.

I was hesitant about telling some of my colleagues about it at first but they just said, "don't worry. We all like you so we won't hate you for that."

I said to everyone of the colleagues that I liked.

"I hate the job but I will miss all of you so badly."

and I still feel that way.
and I can't believe I forgot to ask for Iz and Mas' contact. :( They were so great laa seriously.

Note: this entry is posted on Tuesday, 4 December 2007. Anything that has happened on this post happened on Sunday night/Monday morning, 2 - 3 December 2007, date is for archiving purposes only.

HAPPY SEVENTEENTH, AMIRUL!

YAY! Amirul da seventeen seh. Happy laa tu. I'll try to keep this short because I'm tired and I need to sleep. HAHA. I went out to celebrate his birthday today with him and our friends (even though his birthday is tomorrow) so tomorrow, I will be updating on today's outing; will be full of pictures! HAHA! BTW! I've updated on Saturday, although it's not much. :) LOVES!

Dear AMIROOL!

I love you. Like to-the-limit-does-not-exist type of thing. You have been one of the greatest friends, great company and I really enjoy your presence in my life. You accept my flaws and you always bring out the positive in me. I am proud of your achievements and I will forever support your desicions.

You are really someone I love to spend time with. It's like when I spend time with you, I will never stop laughing. Sometimes it might seem too much to others, but its with you that I find great comfort and I am able to talk to non-stop. Every time I'm out with you, the first thing that will be in my mind is, "I have to tell him (insert topic here)" because you're the type that would open up his ears and will totally crap around with me which is what I need. I have my emo-ments and sometimes I need you.

All the time spent with you, I try to make it special. I know sometimes it's not so obvious but really arh Amirul. We don't meet up at times so on MSN, when you talk to me, I feel a bit guilty that I may be too busy too reply or that kind of nonsense, for that I apologise. However, I really do wished that you and I would meet up more often. If it wasn't for my restrictions at home and your school, I think we'd be out like almost everyday? HAHA. When I get to poly, we spend more time together okay!

I know I'm crazy, moody and all of the above (in the BLEH! catergory). However it seems that you accept it and you try to make me feel better every time. You know about the... erm. That time when you and I (sorta) fought? You blogged about it and we had drama for like an hour? HAHA. It's times like that that I appreciate most because I see it for myself that you will bring out the good in me, even though the bad seem to overshadow it.

You ah. Mentang-mentang get top marks for your webdesigning module... HAHA. I'm actually proud of you because initially, you asked me, "WTH SIA! HOW TO DO?" and you worked hard and I congratulate you for the success! Really seh. (Directed here, but the idiots there haven't put it up yet.)

I enjoyed spending today with you and our friends. I'm not updating it today because I haven't get the pictures from you and Nadee laaaaaaaaa. LAWL.

I LOVE YOU LIKE A LOT BEST FRIEND!
ZOLLYZOLLES! :)

P/S: Hang up that Victoria Beckham look-a-like in your room!

[DSC00477.jpg]
So long,
BEDOK NORTH SECONDARY SCHOOL!
This was officially my last day of school!

It felt weird typing that out, but truly, today was the last day of school. I never thought that the day would come when I would totally leave the school because to certain lengths, BNSS has been a second home to me and is a form of escapism from everything. It is where I turn to for my true friends and its truly the place I would love to waste hours just chilling with friends. When we all go to our tertiary institutes, I don't think the same feeling will be with us.

Imagine. Today was the last time I'll sing Majulah Singapura or say the pledge in the mornings. Today would be the last day I'll be rushing because I would be late for school. (In fact I was almost late today). Today MAY be the last day that I see my juniors.

Today's Graduation Ceremony was alright. Could be better. I did receive a commendation letter from Ms Hazimah. YAY. Read it here.

I have so much memories in school. A lot were great, some were okay, others were just depressing. Nevertheless, everything that I've been through from the very first moment I stepped beyond the front gate, to the very last moment I left the school compound, I treasure the happiness, the anger, the sadness and pretty much everything in between.

I've forged friendships, made enemies and most importantly, met the true friends I will probably ever have. I've loved and lost, yet there are still those that stuck by me regardless of whatever the situation. Be it rumours, controversy amongst classmates and everything else in between, I can't thank you enough.

After this paragraph, I wish to put all unhappiness of secondary school life behind me. If you are not featured, I apolgise. For some of you, I need to know more, the others I've said goodbye. With that, goodbye, BNSS.

These special people, the true friends in my life that I have met and made every waking moment in school a memorable one.

[DSC00113.jpg]
(taken today. Two of my closest best friends ever.)

Hairul, you have proven that you are the truest friend that I will ever have. I don't know what I did to deserve a friend like you but truly, you are a gift from God. I don't think I'll be here if it wasn't for you and dare I say, I'll put you on a pedestal.

You have been my pillar of strength for every tear and every uncertainty in my life. From the time I fought with my dad, to the time I exploded in anger and frustration and to the time I am confused with everything in my life, you were there for me - more than anyone else I ever known.

I should have been a better friend towards you. I should have listen to your advice way before but now I got bitten. Hairul, I apologise for not heeding your advice; for not knowing your intention was the best for me.

I've seen the true colours of everyone and you just showed me your colours are still as bright as when I met you on the first day of school. Hairul, I thank you for everything that you have done for me. I don't know what to do to repay your deeds but when I do, I'll make sure its a damn good one.

Hairul, you are my bestest best friend forever. I feel like as though I'm in kindergarten calling you that, but really. You are my BBFF and you're just one of those special people I secretly want to be; honest, well-disciplined and intelligent. I know I can never find any other friend quite like you and that's why I'm not letting you go. Plus, I want to be there when you get married; I'll be the Best Man.

BBFF, uber loves.

P/S: I really love talking to you about Religion. It opens my eyes.

Amber, I'm not kidding. You're actually my very first best friend. I don't know how we clicked but some how we did and I do treasure you a lot more than you think. I know at times I don't give you the credit you deserve and as your best friend, I am sorry for that. But do you truly know how proud I was when you told me you got a fricken 19/25 for your SBQ? Dude. I don't think I've ever been prouder for you before. I want you to do superlatively well for O levels okay.

You have been a very loyal friend and you stuck by me even though we've fought 548974541949 times per year and can't thank you enough for constantly giving me the push I need in order to achieve success beyond what I can imagine. I am glad that I have someone that is of more or less the same standard as me but only better; to say the right things when I need to hear it.

We are seriously two different worlds that seem to have mixed well. We have different taste in music, fashion style, and many other things but irony is that I can totally understand you when it comes to differences. It's like we're not the same yet we get along. Pretty well, actually. We have a lot of differences but when it comes to similarities, the coincidence is amazing! (You used to live at the block I'm staying now, remember?) And it's also great to have a friend who is proficient with language as I am. (Yes Ber, I am complimenting you)

Amber, I am sorry for the hard times that I may have put you through especially with the unnecessary squabbles but you don't know how I feel when we don't talk or go into cold war; it's like losing a part of youself. I'm glad that we manage to fix every little patch and work around it. I don't think this happens for the others but its like every time we fight we improve a part of ourselves.

Ber, you too are someone I don't think I deserve to know because you're such an amazing friend despite all of your sarcastic remarks. Still, I don't know what I do if I were to lose you because clearly, no one will ever put me down with dry truth like you do.

I hope you understand me well. And yah. You are my best friend for life too.

P/S: I think you're an amazing guy so don't be so down all the time thinking about the past! Live now!

(isn't it obvious? Racial Harmony)

Hamid, Hamid. I've honestly never met anyone so patient in my life, against all odds. You have been a great friend and yah, you are childish. HAHA. Well, not exactly. You're someone I totally can chill with and someone I know that has my back every time.

I thank you for all the times you've take time out and made things hard for yourself by sending me home. Its not necessary but you've done it so often, it has become second nature. I can't thank you enough for listening to my endless rants and yet you still understand me all along. I apologise if I was late in opening up but you know me. I didn't know who to trust.

But now, I trust you. More than ever. I never expected us to be super close now but life is full of surprises. Thanks Hamid, for your company and the support you give me no matter the situation.

[16072007146.jpg]
(SYF Encore performance, just before)

Yes, Mr Parsley. Another one of those I-NEVER-EXPECT-TO-BE-MY-BEST-FRIEND type. You're really energetic and you manage to make me feel better about myself whenever I am down. You have your quirks but they are the ones that never fail to cheer people up, especially me.

I know I may have delayed certain requests but trust me, it's on the way. I am thankful for your patience although you have brought it up more that once, I apologise for that, but when I do make a blog skin for you, it's gonna be super hot.

Presley, your head is full of advice and it's crazylaa. I really hope this friendship with you will be a great one. I wish you all the best in taking your O's next year. Remember, I don't want to see you fail. You have the potential so go for it!

[DSC07469.jpg]
(VivoMadness)

We're in the same boat, you and I. Our friends have turned against us and treated us cruelly. What to do. Human nature I guess. Aini, I was ever so touched when you said that I was your only true friend - I honestly didn't know what I did to receive such a prestigious status in your life but I thank you.

You have been such an asset in my life; from the days of the Burn Book controversy till today, our problem always revolved around one common thing. Friends. You know what? You and I, we have to stick together, regardless so that we don't end up hurt. You remembered the time when I walked you home and you cried because of your friends?

Did you know I was so hurt breaking the news to you that I nearly cried myself? Watching you cry for some reason, hurts me because I don't ever want to see you sad. You have been the underdog in your old relationship with your old friends but don't worry. Now that you are closer to me, between you and I, no one will be the underdog.

Aini, I love you and I loved having you as my partner in crime for Drama. I don't think anyone in Drama can fill your shoes. Well, OUR shoes, actually. I really hope that you will do great in life no matter where you are headed to. Aini, I have high expectations and I really do feel its time you can shine.

Love ya, girl.

(an old photo of us before SYF looking for shoes.)

I don't know why but I'm totally in love with you, Ridhwan. I've only known you for less than a year but it's like I've known you for a lifetime. You made my most depressing days so much brighter. Before I met you (and before we got close) I used to think there wasn't a solid reason why I should go to school everyday but now as I look back, I go to school because I would want to meet you.

You're really the little brother that I never had. I really can't wait to see you grow and go wild. I am thankful for the special moments we shared especially going to the Christina Aguileira concert. I've never been to a pop concert before so sharing the first time with you was such a blast. You were an amazing company, still are and I am really thankful for all the moments you made me smile.

There has never been anyone I showed more love, care and concern to other than you, Wan. You are the light of my life, my little brother. I don't want to see you hurt nor fail - no matter what the tests are; school or life. Seeing you hurt last time was more than enough to convince me you've matured. Still, there's more room to grow.

I'm glad to have found you; you're never ashamed to express your true feelings and really, you're more matured than most of my classmates. I love you. Like, a lot. and ya, I still want that house.

[DSC06398.jpg]
(after our shopping trip last Friday)

You made the last school year brighter every time. You are my ghey-est best friend and someone I know I can be totally honest with; be myself with and really, you're something special in my life. I guess I can officially announce you're like my second little brother. HAHA. I can't help it if people look up to me! (LAWL)

Aslam, you have been such a great friend and looking back, you were so against some of the wrong things that I was doing that it managed to divert me away from that. (It's sort of personal kan, so if you don't understand, just ring me up)

Aslam, I call you my GHEY best friend because we shop like mad and we can get so crazy. I'm having a great time being your bro, but I do hope we get closer even though I am leaving school already. Just like Ridhwan, I hope to see you grow and go wild. Not too wild.

Yes, I love you just as much as I love Ridhwan. And I hope your relationship with Shahirah last until you two get married! Eh, confirm I faint okay if you guys get married! LAWL

Truthfully, I miss BNSS already because it paved the way to show me a who I am. Upon leaving school, there is someone that I feel I will miss the most. She still has to go to school next year but I won't be there. I will miss like hell because she has been so much more than just a friend to me. She's none other than...

MS. HAZIMAH!
[DSC04640.jpg]
(on the day of the SYF competition)

Dear Ms Hazimah,

I know I graduated already and I probably can drop the Ms, but it just doesn't feel right, just yet. Regardless, you were more than a teacher, friend or even best friend. You were like a sister to me. Especially when the one at home is away.

You have taught me so many valuable things like being on my own and its amazing knowing that you believe in me especially when I thought no one ever did. I appreciate everything you have done for me for the past few months like coaching me and giving me the push I need because I think without you I would still be drowning with my maths.

I can't imagine what life would be like without seeing you on a day-to-day basis. I'm already leaving and it just seems weird because best friends don't get separated like that. Promise me that when you totally have nothing to do, especially after you finish marking countless paper work, call me up and we catch up. I will totally do the same.

Most of all, you were the reason I believe in myself and to do what I love; perform. The Teachers Day performance was dedicated to you because truly, you've made a huge impact in my life.

I really hope you have a happy future with your soon-to-be husband (CHEY, don't blush) and another thing. Promise to invite me to your wedding. I'd love to sit at the bride and groom table with you. HAHA. I've never been invited to sit at the table before. HAHA. Oh Hairul too laa.

You truly deserve the best too. I really really love you, bbffs (bbffsister) and you will alawys be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish you all the best with your future husband (CHEY, AGAIN).

ZUL. :)
