8:09 am
Good morning everyone. Today, I received an email from a reader. The email is as follows.
Dear Zul
I am a reader of your blog and to be honest I am quite disappointed with your blog lately. You have been updating very little and you seem to have fallen of your blogger bandwagon.
Is there a reason behind all of this nonsense? Your readership has sunk so low, it's gone lower than bikini bottom.
What excuses can you give us this time, Zul?
Sincerely Irritated
Oh... So I thought I should write a public apology letter to the readers of my inconsistent blogging habits lately.
Dearest Irritated
The excuses that I can give this time are as follows. 1) Laziness 2) I have a social life 3) I think I have a social life 4) I've recently got a 'summer' job 5) I'm elsewhere a lot more
1) Laziness This is self-explanatory. I've other things to do, with/without Macky. That includes my side projects, which I don't think I'm allowed to discuss at a public domain. HAH. And nowadays, I'm back home late so... Yes.
2) Social Life Relating to the last point of the first excuse, I've been out quite a lot, in fact, this week alone, I've celebrated TWO birthdays, been out for dinner on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. HAHA. Basically whole week? Yes.
3) Social Life... Not? I'm contemplating to go clubbing. How is this an excuse, don't ask me. And no, I don't drink.
4) 'Summer' Job For the first month of my holidays (March, basically) I'll be working at the different libraries in Singapore... Get this. As a surveyor. I swear, it's not an easy thing. If you actually follow me on Twitter, you'll realise that I... Hate my job. Really. HAHA.
I've signed a contract not to talk about the people that I faced in the libraries, but let me just say to the National Library Board that people... THEY DON'T WANT TO DO A FREAKING SURVEY IN A LIBRARY!
THEY WANT TO READ! GOSH!
And I'm thinking of getting a permanent part-time job, one that I can maintain even when school starts. Its nice to have extra cash, you know.
5) Elsewhere? Everywhere! Yes, if you need your daily dose, or in this case, hourly dose of Zul, follow me on Facebook and Twitter! (Click each screenshot to visit the pages! :D)
And please don't even ask me about Friendster. I don't use it anymore. It's so... Primary school. I hope primary school kids find Facebook so complicated that they give up while trying to use it.
Its very easy for me to update these two places with Nicky because I'm out all the time.
Presenting Zuck Ful. In an attempt to remove all negativity, short posts and poems on this site, I've decided to get another blog, with lesser content for easy reading, so that I can restore Dont-Cha to the lively blog (or at least more invigorating) that it was before the fast decline.
So today, I was really struck with major drama. The website I was working on, DiClasse, a shopping website, got deleted. I was so angry! The webhosting company told me that I didn't pay the monthly bill.
But I did!
It was only today I realised why the website went off. I wrote the wrong invoice number. It wasn't my mistake, mainly because I have been using the same invoice number to pay for 3 months before already and still the website stayed online. The company did not inform me that they would give me a new invoice number every bill.
Everything I worked hard on (lol.) for FOUR months went down the drain. It's really a mess.
The company said:
Thankyou for your phonecall this afternoon. I have re-actived your account but we were not able to retreive your old webhosting files as it has been over a month since the website was terminated for non-payment.
Do you have a copy of your contents you can re-up on the server?
We have sent you a welcome letter again, Please make sure your payments are made in advance with the correct invoice so this problem does not occur in the future as our systems are fully automatic with no human intervention
My reply:
But you see, it wasn't pointed out CLEARLY that my invoice number would change.
Please try your best to retrieve everything because even though most files are saved, programs I have on the site are not on my computer. Can you please do everything you can to fix this.
This is of utmost importance. The site is not mine. Its my client's. Thank you
The Company's reply:
With all invoices no matter limebox or any other company invoices always are issued new numbers otherwise each month you would have many duplicate invoices and never be able to keep track records.
I will check with our network administrator to see if we kept any backup. But it is standard 3 days after suspended if payment has not been auto received the account will be terminated.
We will let you know the outcome.
My reply:
Well, on my part, I DID pay the day after I got the third invoice notice. However, I would like to point out that I paid for all the months before this using the very first invoice number that was provided when I first started using Limebox, unknowingly that it changes every bill. If those times I put the wrong invoice number, and still the money I paid went through, and my site was still up and running, why not now?
As impressed as I am with computers doing a lot of the calculations of the money that your customers are paying, there should be someone there to check the invoices to see if they were any duplicates. This is money we are talking about. There should be "human intervention" because computers can only do so much, even in programming. It can only be told what the programmer tells it to do. It will discard if it has an invalid entry and in this case, this is where your staffers should and must come in.
I am highly dissatisfied with the service. Ever since the week of 5th December, I tried calling for help, but the only response I got from the company is that "We'll check and call you back." No one called me back. I called two days later because I thought the company would check for the problem and rectify it but I got the same response, and no one called me back.
Nobody went on to say, "Check your invoice number with the new email we sent" or anything of that sort. I had to find out for myself. It is highly disappointing for me I was reaching completion of the website. So please do try your best to retrieve everything and all files on the site. Four months of work literally going down the drain.
Please understand that this is serious and money is involved. Lost time cannot be retrieved so please help.
They have yet to reply, and my clients might even sue. Oh dear. I just want to finish my work. I swear I was such a mess this afternoon, screaming and running around the house. I'm hoping all the files can be retrieved so that I can get this job over and done with.
The thing is, all payments and invoice numbers go through their computer system, and the computer does everything for them so there's no human involved in this. That's why my payment didn't go through for this month and everything was deleted.
I still don't get it how in the past I could use the same invoice number and nothing was deleted. And their services really suck (lol again).
I'm really speechless.
I'm gonna go cycling with Nuruddin tomorrow, hopefully I can clear a lot of negativity from this drama.
Fahrenheit's concert was alright. They need to be more crisp though.
Busy weekend (and week ahead) - Design BNSS 2009 School Booklet - Fahrenheit concert review for Youth.SG - Completion of DiClasse website - Call my Tourism group mates for a freaking meeting (Luqman, you gotta help me on this) - Start on CMSK project research - Get a sketchbook for website layout design, IDES - Design & Develop logos for DTAT
I think that's about it. Anymore I would go crazy.

YES! Britney's new single, Womanizer, has officially leaked and I am so excited! I love the sound, it has a little bit of the Blackout elements, but on this track, her vocals sounds cleaner (which means less technology, more Britney!) and I am indeed looking forward to her new album come December!
And JSYK*, the artwork up top is actually a photoshop marvel. Why? Because that's actually Tyra Banks' body! We all know Britney is not that tall, but heck, in that, she looks hot!
Circus will be out in December. Be on the lookout!
Britney is back! Tres amazing!
In other news, I haven't been working since Sunday. I think I'll be earning less than $200, for sure. I've been running around town to trainings, of which, will not be paid, and it sucks. I better go talk to my agency.
It's weird. My company brings me to the Tourism Court to train me with things I already know, and they got me to go to their office earlier today for the same briefing. It was an utter waste of time, but who knows. Tomorrow might be better.
Emphasis on might.
I will be at the F1 track, in the Marina Square area, the floating platform, but as of right now, I can just hope I get to watch a little bit of the race. It would mean so much to just see one zoom right pass my face for 0.3 seconds.
Please wish me well tomorrow. I think I'll be dead.
You know what's crazy? Only three surveyors were picked to work within the track itself. Everyone else will be outside. Weird, huh! Everyone else will only be working 10pm onwards, outside the gates and their targets would be the people who are leaving the race.
I'm inside, probing the spectators before, during and after the show.
I still wonder though why am I the one picked to be inside. I only know how to speak English. With a little bit of Malay, I can survive, but why me? The other lady that was picked to do the survey could speak German and she'll be within the VVVIP area. (Yes, three Vs.)
And she'll get to mingle with royalty. And get to watch the race. And probably pop free food. And... AH! So many things. I envy.
When will I get to do the French module?! God knows I can only eat French fries.
Still, I am thankful. Even if I don't get to watch it fully, I'll get to bask in the F1 air. I heard the public won't be able to watch it for free or something like that. Totally queer.
So far life has been pretty bleak. Hopefully my partner tomorrow can be of good company. The city would be such a chaotic place to pop by. Especially this weekend. I still have no idea how I can get back home.
For real.
Now I need to practice how to jump on the tourists with questions without them running back to the grandstands.
Auf Wiedersehen. :)
Comment questions: 1) What do you think of Britney's Womanizer? 2) Are you excited for the F1 Race in Singapore? 3) Do you speak other languages? (Other than English & Mother Tongue)
Today was my first work, and a colleague asked me that question. I got intrigued to why he asked such a question. He suggested that there was something different about me. He continued to probe, and gave his input.
"Philippine? Indonesia?"
I just shrugged and waited for him to said that I was local. I asked him why he thought I was those that he suggested. His answer was short and simple.
"You sound funny."
My jaws dropped. Not because he insinuated that I sounded funny...
But he was the one that had lisp.
It's alright. As I found out, my Malay-Muslim collegue wasn't fasting. I just asked him,
"So what's your excuse for not fasting?"
"Uhh... Break ah," he replied.
"Oh guys get off days meh?"
And he just shut up. Oh I felt so powerful. I mean, I'm not the most devout of all Muslims, heck, I think I'm en route to Hell (LAWL!) but at least I can respect the Ramadan and know that I'm fasting for my own good.
He went clubbing last night. I think karma hit him bad because he lost a bag filled with his army uniform and his army pass... At the club.
I was with him on the train ride home, and I scolded him - it felt nice.
"You shouldn't even be drinking in the first place!"
Yeah, that's the reason why he took days off. I didn't feel guilty at all scolding him off like that. Whatever though, he shouldn't be doing things like that, period. I did have a little chat with him on the train though.
There's a major negative attitude about him though it works in certain industries.
He's such a bootlicker. He was literally sucking up to my supervisors, and I could tell he was crossing the lines with some questions. I just raised an eyebrow and just ignored it because it has nothing to do with me.
Oh and if you forgot what I'm working as currently, I am a surveyor for Singapore Tourism Board. And I'm posted different places everytime, in town.
Today, I was posted at the Biennale, at Raffles Quay. The art there was damn nice, I think I'm going there again soon.
Way to write my name, to end it off with Bin.
You know what's crazy, I don't even know if I have to work tomorrow until tomorrow itself. How fxcked up is that?! They will literally call you in the morning to ask if you can work that day. My jaws dropped, really, knowing that we would be given such short notice.
Of course, we can refuse, but still, a little heads up wouldn't hurt. Apparently they'll get it fixed by Tuesday or something.
Crazily, there's night shift for surveyors too. For the Singapore River Festival, the job is like, 9pm - 3am. Although I'll be excited to be able to work at such time in town (Clark Quay and such) but there's full of smokers and drunkards.
That'll be an eye-opener. I should totally do a documentary.
Goodnight, ladies & fellas. p/s: I didn't say any names.
Comment Questions: 1) What do you think of working night shift at places like Clark Quay? Looking for trouble or good experience? 2) What do you think of that guy I worked with? 3) Was it appropriate of me to "politely" scold him off like that? 4) If you were me, what would you do if you have such a job that pops up last minute?

What's up, YO! Good evening readers. A lot of things are coming up this week so check back everyday! :D Remember a few days ago I said, I got a job?
Today I went for my job briefing, NON-PAID, please and thank you. It was so hard to get to the place because I had to go to the Singapore Tourism Court, which is the worldwide headquarters for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
Finding that place was NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. I had to get off the bus at Far East Plaza (thank God at least the bus is a direct bus to and from home) but to actually get to the STB was not a walk in the park. Literally.
Under the hot sun, I melted. Engulfed in mosquito repellent spray, I suffocated. Intricate road patterns, I got lost.
Stupid taxi uncle gave me wrong directions but two angels, a condo security guard and an random Indonesian maid guided me to the place. Thank God they were there. Or else I would have been late.
So the briefing was a huge waste of time, and it was like a battle of who's right and who's wrong. Seriously. I can't elaborate this because eventually someone would actually bother to Google my name and accuse me of being unprofessional.
I mean, it hasn't happen, but I definitely don't want it to start.
I did make a number of friends but I ended up myself quite cool with Zhou Dao and he's very friendly. Plus we immedietly clicked from the moment we started having a conversation.
So take a look at the shirt! :D
Yeah, I'm technically working for them
Thanks for the orange shirt.
So when they were giving away the shirts, one of the supervisors, Bill, Cliff, what? I forgot his name, lol, took a look at me, and said,
"You look like a size M."
And my eyes lit up, "AWWW! I'm flattered, THANK YOU!"
And he smiled at me. So nice, right? I must have lost so much weight! AND BEFORE THE CYNICAL CRITICS SAID HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC, URGH, lol, he actually passed on an M shirt, but since I know and he knows that there's a lot of sized M people, I agreed to give it away to the less fortunate ones.
Plus, the L size fit me so amazingly.
But I can't help but wonder as I saw the shirt for the first time, it reminded me of my old uniform.
Care to guess which?
AND ZOMG I LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT LAA! :D:D
YESSSSSS, AIRPORT GUIDE.
SAME COLOUR, SAME TONE.
LESS WEIGHT! :D
I mean, the Airport Guide job and this survey job has a lot of similarities, considering I'll be meeting a lot of foreigners and tourists...
BUT i would have to interview them and probe them with stupid questions (OF WHICH ARE CONFIDENTIAL). But whatever, I just hope I can have fun too.
At least I won't be stuck at home, no? Wish me luck for the job! :D
I start work probably this Sunday, so if you're out in town, you might see me there, COME BY AND SAY HI! Please, harass me at my job all you want! :D
I went grocery shopping with BBFF, Hairul. How awesome can life get? (Please denote sarcasm right about now.) I mean, I did have fun with him. I got a lot of things I didn't need while he shopped for his family. See the differences between him and I? No wonder we're best friends.
Amirul complained and asked why my post seem short these days. No worries, I seem to have reach a writer's block whenever I sit in front of Macky. Well, my job nowadays is to watch television shows on Macky anyway.
Well, while waiting for the season premiere of MADtv to finish downloading, I thought it might be nice to update a few things on my life.
I got the internship at Singapore Media Press, to be a writer and designer for their magazine, The Executive, but I decided to let it go. The week I was supposed to start work, I had to call the editor on how it would go down.
He told me to call him again another week because he was too busy. That itself was somewhat the last straw for me. I didn't bother to call him again and I thought it would be best if I found another job - to at least earn some money for saving sake.
It was a business magazine anyway, I know shit about business except give in to the customers when they ask for less.
It's alright. I'll have other chances to try this out, I'm sure.
Anyway, I'll be working around the F1 circuit. Exciting, huh! I'll be working as a surveyor (on tourists) and I'll be positioned at the grandstand gates at the F1 circuit, so most likely I'll get to watch the race first hand! I might not have seats, but it beats sitting at home doing nothing!
I'll be working (should be laa) from this week onwards all the way to Oct 7th, just nice before school starts. How exciting!
Oh before I forget, this Saturday, I'll be helping out at this Power 98 carnival. Apparently appointed by my school. I can't wait, seriously! I'll be rubbing shoulders with the deejays and perhaps this is my chance to ask them some questions about deejaying. :D
I so want to try and ask them if I could be on radio for like a day or something. HAHA.
I can't wait for Hari Raya! Today is the fourteenth day of fast and I'm so excited that I'm almost halfway through! I hope my upcoming job will be alright.
Yeah, today was the first day of Ramadan, and quite surprisingly, I made it thorough without any difficulty. I didn't feel any type of hunger or thirst. Well, I've sort of prepared myself for it, so I'm alright. I ate two meals a day prior to today and I kinda got used to it and made sure the night before I'd drink plenty of water.
The thing that really made me treasure today was that the whole family had dinner together and no one was absent. I guess after spending nights alone, I appreciate the whole family coming together to break the first night of fast together.
I'm on a new project, launching a new website and even though I think I'm underpaid, I still think I should give it my best because I will be putting my label on it, so why not right? I just hope my clients give me a bonus *hints and prays hard*
And as the poll suggests, the winner is for sure Luqman, but he insisted that the award be snowballed to someone else, and updates has shown the winner is ME! Snowball it on over, and the winner is Michelle's BeingZul.com.
She will get her Blogger/Friendster skin, though I hope she chooses the latter. Anyway, I will however not get PaperChase.com/.net/.org because its not availiable. Luqman has advised me not to buy one at all.
Though TheDevil and NineProfusion is so tempting. Though after days of carefully considering the name of my portfolio website will be, I decided it will be...
NineProfusion!
It has quite a meaning to it too and I really like it. More on this when the website launches.
Alright everyone! Those who are fasting, all the best, those who aren't, don't eat in front of us!
Comment questions! 1) Why do you think of NineProfusion? 2) What do you think of Luqman snowballing his prize away? 3) When was the last time you had dinner with the whole family? 4) Should I do more even though I think I charge little (for the website assignment)? What do you think?
Somebody's Gonna Cry Tonight

10:31 pm
I finished working at Comex. Like finally. Standing for more than 9 hours a day really tires me out. Oh well, all for the moolah.
I've made some friends at work, though it was not comparable to last year's Sitex. I made so many close friends. Even Joakhim visited me at work earlier today! I don't know if it was coincidence, but some of the friendships that I've earned at last year's Sitex lasted me even up till today.
Well, a lot of people did visit me at work, well, most were just coincidence, but still I appreciate the presence. Thanks so much Zhi Li, Fariza (and many more laa eh!) for visiting me! :D
Tonight is the start of Ramadan, and I will be fasting for one month starting from tomorrow. This month, I plan to give it my best; to fast to the fullest and dedicate it to my late grandparents. This month also I wish to make things right between friends and to those who are no longer friends as well. I think that's important laa, really.
I have to learn to be more patient in this holy month and restrain any types of temptations (be it food and any ahems-ahems), and yeah. I want to make sure I make everyday of Ramadan a productive one if possible.
You know, these past few days, I've been having rather weird dreams. Every night, you know. There was once I dreamt that it was the wake of my late grandmother and I held her in my hands and my grandfather was there crying. When I woke up at five in the morning, I realised I was crying as well when I woke up.
Then another time, I dreamt that I was friends once again with someone that I don't even talk to now.
And I'm the type to somehow believe in dreams, and I think these dreams are just me wanting to be the best I can be. You know, to finally do something right for my grandparents and to fix (if possible) the rift between old friends and I.
You know what's weird? This is the first Ramadan without my grandfather. Shit, I'm starting to miss him again. Oh well, I gotta remain strong.
Come on Zul, resist temptaion and nonsense! :D
Alright, this year for Ramadan, I want to start doing what I wanted to do years back. Every day in the holy month, I want to post up something new I learned that day, regardless if it has anything to do with religion or not.
Perhaps I just need a ray of light for myself to see clear, this just might be it.
Comment Questions: 1) (If you're Muslim, lol!) Do you plan to fast full for the whole 30 days? 2) (If you're not Muslim, lol!) Have you fasted before? / Do you want to try even for a day? 3) (Be it whatever religion laa!) What is the thing that you want to improve about yourself? 4) Do you believe that dreams can send you messages?
Sacrifice, Literally

6:26 pm
I'm sacrificing my rest days from school and I'm sacrificing my sleep. All to see Panic and Alicia in August. I'm really excited. I'm working graveyard shift and it's been alright. It isn't the best job and honestly, it's an eye-opener. I shall elaborate on that another day.
I've a few days left before the restart of school, and quite frankly, I miss school and its lesson. I miss seeing my friends but the only thing I don't miss are projects and assignments. Really.
I have four. Programming, Web design, Design & Computer Systems. Only the latter is a group project but despite having meet up for a meeting yesterday, we didn't do anything. We basically sat down and had a very long conversation. HAHA.
After the meeting yesterday, I went to this course and it was on Script Writing. I initially thought that the whole course was just about how to write scripts and good stories but there's more to it. We are eventually gonna write a script for the musicals in 2009 & 2010! Wohooo! I'm stoked for that, seriously. And I thought my life was lacking drama. HAH.
Can I act in it?
LOL. I'll keep you guys posted. In the meantime, check out this funny advertisment. It's a hot mess, lemme tell you that.
No more staff discounts. No more sunrise breakfasts in transit. No more GOGO FRANKS. No more airport guides.
We know more than the SATS staff. We see the funniest things. We get in the deepest shxt. No kidding.
There's as lot of funny stories that the airport guides have experienced and seen with their own eyes. Tips were encouraged to be rejected, but fxck it, some of us including yours truly, made bank.
My very own experience was with the Bangladeshi workers who were en route to Kuala Lumpur but their flight was at night at about 8 p.m., but since I was working the first shift, it was still 10 a.m., which was rather early. Still, were were trying so hard to help him and his fellow friends.
They wanted to know which gate. Since it was too early, we couldn't really find out which gate their plan should be at. We told them, "Sir, you have to wait till about 5 p.m. to know which gate." He nodded, with an affirmation that he understood.
Soon after, he and his friends walked around, still with their clueless faces, unsure of which gate. We told them to wait. They nodded. But this time, they stayed there, wanting more explanation. I'm not sure who, but my fellow airport guide took a paper and explain they would have to wait at till night time. How?
Draw two clocks, the Sun and the moon. One clocked showed 10 a.m. and another showed 8 p.m.
Finally, we thought, they understood. They nodded.
Then they came back! We were rather fed up, but didn't want to show it because apparently, we're in the 'service sector', so we directed them to the information counter.
The information counter ladies apparently... Directed them back to us.
Another time, I was swarmed by French passengers. One lady came up to me and started speaking to me in French. I wanted to say that I didn't understand but she kept on going on and on and on. I was a bit hesitant, but I still had to help.
Soon, those that were going on the same flight saw her talking to me, so they came up to me. I thought, okay, maybe these people might help and break the barrier by explaining in English, but then again...
She shot me with French!
Then another came, and another! And then another! Five people were speaking to me in French non-stop, I wanted to just cut a bxtch and go crazy. However, once I heard the words, Brunei, I screamed, "E24, THAT SIDE!"
And they went off as fast as water coming out of a faucet.
Apart from the funny and fun times, there were politics at work. The CAAS (our employers, apparently) have always been wanting to cut our throats. They're the ones that really just makes our job an unhappy one, honestly, up to the point where they find faults with us that are so trivial.
Regardless, when you put them aside, the job is the best job.
Because we all start very tame and filial. End up to be total rebels.
I admit, I was the starter of the rebel movement. I taught the new kids to be bad and go wild during the job. Most of them are more expert than I am.
I love my co-workers. I love the airport. I love the transit area. I love my supervisors. I love wasting $4 on transport everyday to the airport. I love not loving CAAS.
And now that I don't have the pass, I think I won't ever go in transit again. Oh shxt. :(
When Spaghetti excites you too much, you take two forks unknowingly.
Poly life is awesome. I find myself parading around school with awesome clothes and people trying to read what's written on your shirt. "I'm kind of a BIG DEAL" got most views. Aside from being fashionable (and fashionably late for classes), CCA is still pretty much a blur and pretty much everything else.
My favourite subject in poly has got to be, hands down, visual literacy. It's all about creativity - and I really love the concept. The first assignment I got was to make designs or just make something out of three shapes, a circle, a square and a triangle. See how creative you are and what you can cook up.
Of course, things aren't gonna be any easier. Still, I have to give props to Luqman for introducing me to this course. I shall give him free photoshop lessons. HAHA.
While I try to collate all my thoughts, tonight I'm going to the Great Spy Experiment's gig at Esplanade (standing only) and Jia Yi insists on standing upfront so she can see the hot lead. Or so she claims. After which, I will be heading to Airport for my last two days of work.
I'll miss the airport. Really.
Oh last thing before I get ready before tonight's gig, thanks everyone, online and offline for the positive feedback! More vlogs on the way, but it'll be once a week, or something. I'm going to record something tonight at work, perhaps but we'll see how.
Loves, and to those who haven't watched, scroll down, alright? Goodnight!
I'm sick. Really sick. And as I went out with Dommy today, I kept speaking in Gibberish. My throat hurts. My body feels warm and cold simultaneously. I have ulcer the size of Paris in the mouth, lower lip and another the size of Singapore on the top lip. I couldn't speak properly and as Dommy found it hard to understand while I was quivering, I just continued
And he eventually understood. I spoke like a mute trying his best to communicate with a best friend who couldn't do sign language.
Honestly, I blame two things.
1) Work/My Schedule
It's my fault. I know. When you are working, you want/need to earn money for your parents or for your own self-indulgence and I needed that. I did it for the former, and I did it for the latter too.
I also realise due to my such limited time in front of the computer screen, I go over my bed time (yes, I do have a bed time that actually keeps my heath in proper order) and I have to wake up as early as 3 am for a 4.30 am pickup (however, my driver for transport is being more lenient, pick up is as late as 5 am!) and my brain can't take it. I sleep as late as midnight and in the words of Ismail, Dominic and Luqman, "Go sleep laa! You're working tomorrow."
And usually I complied.
I did a lot of overtime as well. Honestly, I needed the extra cash. It is foresighted I will earn quite a lot this month, so if all goes well, Alhamdullilah! At least I get something of using all my energy.
2) Diet
I ate all the wrong things honestly. I ate heaty foods and it was almost everyday, I'd hit Wang's Cafe and gobble up their Laksa in time for work. (Even though I'd slack after I eat, HAHA).
Another confession is that for weeks, I barely eaten Mummy's cooking. I get a bit lost in the airport food and come home with a full stomach. I can't be eating all the time, I mean, a brotha gotta lose weight, yo!
I think I need a good rest. My next off-day is on Monday and I requested work on my off-days, Tuesday and Friday. If I get it, good. At least I can earn $84 more. If I don't, good. At least I can rest. No matter the outcome, I'm still doing good. :D
I'm still strong, even though my brains demand a good night's sleep and my throat demands some Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, this is what my parents have been going through for decades. I've only been doing it for months and I'm wailing like a fangirl for Panic At The Disco.
I gave Mummy a surprise though. I came back with Britney Spears' Greatest Hits: My Prerogative DVD. Her VCD version now looks like crap and the player somehow comes to a halt whenever Britney screams "STOP!" in the video, (You Drive Me) Crazy.
Okay, exaggerated. Second on my list is Beyonce's superlatively rare single, Crazy In Love! I am so fxcking excited. Dommy asked about the CD, I just replied, "I've been looking for this CD for five years, it's super rare laa!"
Then the cashier cut in. Irritating.
All in all, I spent about $53, and even though now my account is running low, I shall not break in to my savings account. You know, the one for the future. Good news is that next week I shall get the rest of the pay that the company hasn't paid me yet. I've yet to receive a phone call from them, but I'll be patient. At least until Monday.
As sick as I may be, I'm still happy that I got to see Mummy happy, knowing she loves Britney (and recently, I'm on Britney overload too! HAHA) and its killing two birds with one stone. I get to watch Britney, and so does my Mum!
Ahh. I'll be okay. I won't depend on paying the doctor $32 for paracetamol. For goodness sake, they're exactly Panadol pills. My brain is telling me I need rest and that I'm working tomorrow.
I know I know, its been years since I last updated. Honestly, I've been very busy with the enrolment forms for polytechnic. I'm almost done, I just need Mummy to sign the various Giro forms and the Tuition Grant.
There's something stopping me though. My panda eyes. Apparently, my polytechnic requires me to take a passport photo of not more that five months old. Therefore, I have to take a new photo soon. Clothes wise, I pretty much know what I should wear but other than that, my panda eyes are really black, you know. Much worst than eye bags.
And I swear I never worked this hard in school. HAHA.
Next week, work is gonna get even more lenient as they will need lesser people at the airport so my supervisors gave me three days off! As good as that might sound, I really want to work. I love my home and I love spending time with my mum, I love the airport as well!
As a matter of fact. I'm blogging at the airport while I'm working. HAHA. I know, it isn't allowed, but how can I resist? Last night I was working hard on the Musical Nite booklets because apparently there were some miscommunication and I had to edit the photos even though they were already sent out for printing. Some complex shxt.
Honestly, I didn't want to bother, but I was reminded of my juniors and thought, "Damn, I'm gonna do this for them," and I got to work. I returned home from work and a long day of relaxing my tired body at the movies with my colleagues/friends.
Perhaps I'll backtrack and blog about that outing once I get the photos from Julz.
Anyway, work today was awesome (I'm in the process of actually working right now) and even though the time moved slowly, I was posted in transit after a marathon of over more than a week at the departure hall. I can honestly jump for joy.
Yesterday also, I disappeared from work for two hours for my medical checkup for polytechnic. I went for an X-ray and my heart is super big. HAHA.
After the checkup, I realised, even for someone who is rather fat, I'm rather fit as well. HAHA.
Note, the previos post was me just posting my feelings. I mean, don't take it too seriously, its not that I'm hung up on anybody, I'm just hung up on myself.
Love y'all loads, A Pier, T3 Transit
P/S: It is confirmed ladies and gentlemen. Temasek Polytechnic, School of Informatics and Information Technology, Interactive Media Informatics. I am excited. :D
This morning (at about midnight), I had midnight shift with Julz and Fariza and the supervisors strategically posted us at T3 so the three of us could be together for our shift. Joining us were Fatin (in black hoodie) and Ismail (another Ismail from work, extreme left) though the latter two was posted elsewhere since they're rather close so the supervisors were nice enough to put them together.
For the rest of the morning/night/whachamecallit, I just slacked around with Fariza and Julz and we really did slack. We sat in the middle of the departure hall, ate non-stop and I even slept at work. It was really tiring; considering I'm not a 'staying-up-all-night-long" type of person.
Hot bxtches. No really. LAWL.
I was too tired, I admit, I'm working too hard too fast. When I was napping, I could hear myself breathe. The ladies could hear me snore. I know for a fact I never snored. So I guess this was when my tiredness level has reached an all time high.
When I woke up to the beat of Kelly's Work (yes, I told them if they wanted me to wake up, just play the song) and I was awake so quick. HAHA. The ladies had a good laugh, so it's alright. We then went to slack at the kerbside because it was getting to cold. I lied on the floor, considering I really could sleep anywhere and we just chilled.
The most craziest thing was that the airport was so bright, you'd think you won't be able to see stars. I could see one. Oh well.
Anywho, I never thought kerbside was ever fun. Working kerbside in the daytime is such torture but at night was amazing. We sang Britney classics non-stop. Like really. That itself passed the time superfast. We started at about 3 am, stopped singing at about 4.30 am.
Julz has a nice butt.
I loved working 4th shift. Even though we end up looking like zombies, it rocks when you have the right company. And it's sad that my bro Zairil couldn't join us. We didn't really want to bother him though. He's probably too tired from the chalet he was organizing for the people we were covering for.
Yes, that's right. The whole fourth shift took off on this day thus the possibility of us doing this shift. And here's some eye candy for the heterosexual males out there. (MUAHAHHAA)
I'm working extra hard and working almost two shifts a day. All these is to get extra cash so that it wouldn't be so hard on my parents, you know? I predict a financial constraint this year, but knowing my family, we'll still be strong.
You know what else is new?
I'M GETTING A MACBOOK!
and it's confirmed. In three weeks or so, I shall start blogging wirelessly, which means more updates and amazing stuffs! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
I'm happy.
I just finished third shift last night and I slept at the airport. Thank Heavens it wasn't that bad. I actually slept well. Twice! I woke up at three in the morning, so fresh, but once I woke up for the second nap, I literally died.
HAHA.
Oh well, I miss you all still and I hope to update more soon, and oh by the way, Chinese Horoscopes are SO ACCURATE. :S Makes me shiver actually.
I'm working a double shift again, later. 4th shift and continue on to 1st shift. I'm working right now actually. Shoot. I should go.
Take care; LOVES!
GOGO FRANKS WAITING FOR ME! *GoGo Franks is a hot dog company. HAHA
Vocals, cameras and the skytrain - I spent most of my hours at work with Fatin (above) and I think today passed so fast like... Well, something really fast. I kinda like the atmosphere of the airport, and I'm planning to stay till the bitter end while the others leave, one by one, getting ready for polytechnic, national service or university.
I just need extra cash for polytechnic.
And when comes extra cash, comes shortage of pay.
I got my pay today and I believe it's almost $150 - $200 short. I calculated that its is projected I get around $850 - $900 but is lack thereof. I really want my pay. In full. And I want it now. I can't believe the people at the office have the nerve to call me and say, "You'll be in shortage, but just for a bit."
"Just for a bit? It's a lot okay. So when I'm getting the 'a lot'?"
"By next week."
"Eh, like this cannot you know. This is money, okay. I'm very unhappy."
"I understand, but you're not the only one."
"SO? I'm warning you. The airport guides are coming to get you today."
And he shut up. I'll try to be patient, but most of us airport guides (well, the teens at least) are coming down to main office tomorrow to demand pay. The aunties are at it this afternoon, they'll be earlier than is, so I hope by tomorrow 'traffic flow of airport guides bombarding the office' shall be smoother.
I have a million and one stories to tell and even this is incomplete. I think with this new experience, shall be a head start to reliving my dead series, "Confessions Of", only after my job is over, of course.
I also have another confession. I spent over $300 on disposable goods such as food and movies. I barely shopped so I should kill myself. I think I want to disconnect the connection of my ATM card to my savings. Then and only then can I truly reach my goal of $4000 in my savings account.
My shopping account is currently ZERO dollars and honestly, it's hard and tempting to use my savings - even though its for my future. I'm gonna work hard, perhaps a promotion to really save up for the future.
I should change my mindset. I should work to prepare my future and spend for my now; not just the latter. And I think I shall continue to work even when school starts considering the airport is rather close by.
Yes, I know, the beating of DONT-CHA's heart is slowing down, but I'm backdating a lot of entries. And I mean a lot, considering I have tomorrow as a day off. Check back for updates, love. (A new skin too!)
Friday was Larry's last day of work. I will miss this senior of mine. HAHA. Happy NS-ing, LARRY NG. :D (and he crashed the buggy to the wall. HAHAHAHAHAHA. One of the funniest moment while working with him. Seriously will miss him laa!
And now for a string of photos and the most memorable quote made at work (and revolving the crazy workers.)
Julz (speaking to Zairil and I): You guys... Later at the mosque, please pray that I find my eZlink card. And my airport pass.
Supervisor: Well, you still can't sit (pertaining to other problem). By the way Zul, why are you wearing Larry's name-tag? Me: Err... for fun?
Me (jokingly asks): Uncle? Can I ride that (buggy)? Uncle: Come quick! Must drive this corner only arh!
Zairil: Zul, what would you say if I could carry you? Me: Zairil, congrats. You can carry me.
P/S: I had an outing last Friday and a few more the days before. Shall update about it once I get everyone's photos. P/S/S: I just got Adobe Photoshop CS 8, so I'm trying the works, as you can see. You'll see more of this experimentation in the future. :D:D P/M/S: P.S. I love you is an amazing movie. I watched twice and both times I cried. So many guys in the theater cried too, so don't call me out. HEAVY P/M/S: Ismail, I shall kill you for saying what you said. HAHAHA.
