Cos You're My Best Friend

Dominic's birthday was last Monday (2oth) but since it was the first day of school, we pushed our celebration to today and it was fun while it lasted.

Earlier in the morning I was running around Tampines trying to get his gift together. I swear, the wrapping was horrible but from one angle it looks fine, kinda like a clutch. But whatever, I met him after school at 6pm at Pastamania.

We ordered our food and I'm disappointed with myself. I ordered the wrong food and got crappy pasta, oh never mind. Check my tan out.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/IMG_1387.jpg

I am so retardedly orange.

Okay. Confession: I'm a little pissed because...

The manager told me that I cannot have the cake I bought for Dom there. Its like, WTF. I spent so much at Pastamania and Dom couldn't even eat his damn cake. Like WTF.

I didn't gave a damn so I took the cake out while Dom was ordering another plate of pasta for us to share. I lit the candle and everything seemed to be going fine.

When Dom came back, it was his face that lit up. Aww. That made my day. HAHA.

Then you know what? After that, the manager came back to me and insisted that we take the paper plates that he gave us and have the cake elsewhere. I mean, what the hell ran through your head?

I understand the policy of, "No outside food" but dude, it's not like we brought Pizza Hut, KFC or McDonalds to be consumed, it's a fricken birthday cake! In fact, it was just a slice!

GASP. I couldn't stand the nonsense and fuckery of it all but I didn't show any anger because it wasn't my day, so it's okay. HAHA.

The card and the present. Told you it looks like a clutch.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/22042009124.jpg
That's the gift I got for him. The bag.

Confession, again: I loved the bag so much I got one for myself, but it was a different design.

Mayhem

[SDC10208th.jpg]
You add us up and its mayhem.

I still remember his flat hair and her slightly longer flow-ish one. (And fecking hell I look like a mess)

Sarah Regina Edward seemed cool to me the first time when I met her. She was always so loud and active. Cheerful at best and never looked sad. But when I got to know her, no like when I REALLY got to know her.

She was IS a train wreck!

Bumping into things left and right, rolling down the stairs... She is (and probably will always be) a nutcase. But I love her for it. And many times, its her clumsiness and her blonde-ish remarks that cheers me up.

But the thing that struck me the most was her ability to support someone, in whatever that they wanna do. And she's been there for me and quite frankly, I can't appreciate her more, she's one of my best friends.

She's smart, she's loyal and truth be told, she's marvellous. She's a girl who has the drive to drive everyone insane but at the same time, reassure you that you're gonna be fine. Sarah is a rare specimen, a diamond in the sand.

Sarah Regina Edward is an amazing friend. Happy 18th Birthday, my dear.

Won Hui Bo is an influence. A good or bad one, I'm not quite sure.

But one thing I know is that Bo has always pushed me to do things that... Well, Zul wouldn't do. Perhaps be a little bit more braver than I'm already am, or to be a little less complacent and go far.

When I first saw him, to be honest, I never thought he was prominent. I thought he would just be my classmate and that was it. Mainly because at that time, I was hanging out with someone else, but things switched, and I became closer with Bo.

Bo has become more of a blessing really. He's tech-savvy (and by that I mean he can dismantle a computer and build a better one after that) but aside to that, he's a true friend. True, he lies when telling the time, but one thing I can take note is that he will never let someone down unless he has to come to it.

Bo has been some sort of a confidante to me and sometimes I feel like I could've been a better friend to him because he maintains composure when pre-masturbatory syndrome (or PMS) gets the best of me.

Even more than that, Bo has opened my eyes to another world that I only thought existed in my imagination, a world more apparent to him and less attractive to me. And we're talking beyond technology.

You're a friend first, Bo. And you are one of my best friends, you know that?

Won Hui Bo, en route to 18, happy belated birthday. 1st January for the win.

I love you guys. Equally. If not, Sarah a little bit more. HAHA.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/th2.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/th1.jpg
Dom all pretty for the camera. HAH.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/th4.jpg
The conveyor belt was FULL of sushi la! And if your favourite sushi is not available on the belt, just order, they will do it specially for you!

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/th5.jpg
First time eating sushi with the conveyor belt! Happening sia! LOL.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/zullies/th3.jpg

Freaking Ice Cream. HAHA. It's freaking adorable la! Well, whatever. I had a great time and Dom & Hairul got me something special. HAHA.

A weighing scale. AND AN ELECTRONIC ONE AT THAT! OMG! YESSSSSSS!

Birthday Boss
Monday, February 09, 2009 10:51 pm

BEST. BIRTHDAY. EVER.

I thought my birthday would be a big bomb (the bad kind) but it turned out to be a big bomb (the good kind!) I was dubbed Birthday Boss today. My day has been a good one. A weird, but good one. A true whirlwind of events came by and I just took everything in one step at a time.

The day for me started early, 3 am to be exact, working on my presentations. I swear I thought I was fecked because most of the things I couldn't get myself done. (Oh yes, I had two.)

Initially I felt incompetent for my Communications (CMSK3) presentation because I couldn't get myself in the zone especially after seeing Jotham giving such a relaxed and casual yet serious oral presentation.

When it was my turn I gave it my all and I ended up enjoying my time talking in front of the class. Not bad ah!

Then when CMSK3 was over, we head on over to a lecture hall for our Multimedia Project (MMP1) presentation and my guts were tied up in a knot. I could only hoped waking up at 3 am worked. HAH.

In my new shoes, shirt and tie, a little bit of an old blazer with the same old pants, I felt so confident giving my speech about my project and I felt I nailed it. I loved the look on my classmates and I felt like I finally did the right thing.

HAHA. (Videos will be availiable soon)

Bo, Sarah and Michelle bought me a cake to share with the classmates and I felt so loved! But gusss what as I was gonna blow the candles?

SARAH TRIPPED ON THE STAIRS AND SHE DID A 36o DEGREES! I was so scared for my girl! I ran up to her and thankfully she was okay.

Well, on to my birthday cake. :D

Damn fricken nice with jam inside! HAHAH.

Michelle's idea of a forfeit. Removing candles with your mouth. LOL

After that, since everyone was in formal, we decided to take a class photo. Loves it!

Let's play a game. Who is the lecturer?
(if you know the answer, don't spoil it!)

WOW and that was just in the morning. At night was so much more amazing with well time spent with my family. I'll blog about that later. I'm tired and I need rest from all these celebrations I swear.

From those that were on Facebook, Steph, Irma, Hasri, Syaherah, Nicholas, Adda, Zara, Ismail, Jason (LOL thanks for the Dc3Forever.net dedication), Ili, Abigail, Zara, NUR! (:D:D), Jia Yi (MISS YOU GIRL!) and Zhong Hao not forgetting Timothy, Tian Seng and Rachael thank you so much! (and the many others whose wishes are coming in still!)

Thank you even more to those who sparred a thought and SMS'ed me, waiting up till after midnight. Gosh, I feel loved. HAHA. Thanks Luqman :), Amirul, Aini, Danish, Hazimah, Fariza, Presley (my bro for life? HAHHA), My BBFF :D:D Hairul, Jaye, Joakhim, Farah, Nuruddin, Nadiah, Haiqal (HAHA MUST GO OUT) and Adan, Sargent Tho Zhee Long and many more. Love you guys.

Thanks for the quick song, Hairul. I loved it. And Luqman, think of it this way. You'll always be younger than me. :( And Dom... Thanks for the message. You too are my best friend.

Thanks Presley and Hamid for yesterday's bowling session, and Amber, nice seeing you brother. Its been a while laa!

I can't wait for Wednesday! Day out with Dom! Then Hairul. Then a few weeks later with Amirul and the gang! And then with Joakhim and Zhee Loong! AHHH!

I swear my birthday is always the best (in my mind at least.)

Thanks loves, and thanks to my family too! :D

I'M FREAKING NINETEEN!
btw, all presents will be on another post.

I Kissed A Boy
Saturday, September 27, 2008 1:06 pm

I made the poster, damn cool laa. It was supposed to be a shirt, but one, I don't know if he'd wear it and two, I had no cash and time. SADWoRxxX!

It's been quite a while since I've actually done a dedication post for someone. And no, the title is not what my friend and I have been doing, I'm actually referencing Cobra Starship's parody of I Kissed A Girl.

But I digress...

I guess I never really told the readers here how I met Luqman. I mean, he's like the few people whom I actually remembered how the friendship began (e.g. Hairul & Amber was at Orientation Camp, Amirul through my old blog and then Singapore Idol etcetera).

Initially, to be honest... I had no recollection of knowing Luqman, at all. LOL.

Regardless, Luqman refreshed my memory and typically, like the occasionally self-indulgent person that I am, I was actually complaining to him about my woes of being a band member. He just sat there and listened. This was when I was 14, secondary two. He already left Bedok North Sec (BNSS) for Si Ling Sec. He visited BNSS and he was there to listen to me complain. How nice.

A year later (or around that period of time) Luqman and I began contacting each other once again and we clicked. From then on, we chatted every single day and it really made me feel like I was really his friend. Even though by then we were in different schools.

As time progresses, I felt that Luqman was someone I could really confided in. I began opening up to him and I felt very comfortable talking to him about a lot of things. True that he was very apprehensive about opening up to me initially. However with friends, you gotta start somewhere.

Trivia: Luqman recommended Interactive Media Informatics as one of the choices for the polytechnic courses and that ended up being my first appeal choice. Cool huh.

Trivia 2: Luqman introduced me to a whole new music genre (and a huge collection of artists and musicians) that I totally am in love with now (e.g. Panic & Cobra)

Eventually he began to open up to me too and that itself became a new experience in the friendship that we share. It was really refreshing and as time passed, he (kinda) never held back with his thoughts. Which was awesome, I feel.

I know I mentioned Luqman in quite a number of posts but I guess I never really highlighted why I truly consider him a great friend.

I can really talk to him about anything under the sun and there's practically little or no topics that we have to avoid. He's like one of the two friends that I can talk to without any inhibitions at all. When I talk to Luqman, I can talk to him about anything and I know at the end of the conversation, he won't judge me.

That's what I call an amazing friend. I know that once I've found a friend that is so understanding, I should learn to treasure the friendship, and no doubt, I really do.

But the best thing ever about my very good friend, Luqman, is that he is one of the few people that will support whatever I choose to do and I know will always be there to back me up if I fall. He won't say it but I know. I just know.

As much as I like having endless nonsensical chatter with the chap (our MSN convos are FTLOLs!), but when we actually talk about something substantial, its a whole other scenario.. This guy, Luqman, is destined for amazing things and I can see him showered with sucess, no doubt.

Luqman, you have so much potential and remember, make that talent of yours grow because you are one hell of a person with so much gift in the brain and heart. I will, always, support what you choose to do and know that if you fall, bro, I will always be there to kick your ass so hard, you'll be standing stronger than before.

Dude, you're amazing. Know that everything you have done for me (and more), have changed something about myself, drastically, one way or another.

Happy birthday, my friend.

(Oh and Luqman, I LOVE USING YOU to get readers. *please note sarcasm here and please don't comment, "you're welcome", you ass*. BTW, I have a strong feeling he'll sms me saying thanks but he won't say anything else after reading this. I just know)

Plus, this is post number 800. Happy birthday again, my very very best(est) friend.

*A jolt of temporary intelligence strikes Luqman!*

Six Years On
Wednesday, August 20, 2008 10:21 pm

[DSC01933.jpg]

This is Amber, exactly four years before today, celebrating his 14th birthday with me at the now defunct Swensens (the one at that old Sogo building), with him eating his free ice cream and him giving me a small treat.

That day, he bought cake home to celebrate with his family and as a small prank, I made the lady give him 14 small candles instead of one big candle and four small ones. Let's just say the rest of the day didn't end so smoothly.

Fast forward to today, I'm glad to say I really enjoyed the friendship and brotherhood that I've shared with Amber since we first met in 2003. We share our innermost feelings and thoughts while fighting about trivial matters.

He's really one of the best people I know.

And he's an ass too.

You know, we'd fight over who's supposed to sit where and shit like that. Its totally nonsense but as we grew older together, we matured and understand each other a lot more. I can even tell when he's about to shoot me with a devious comment but I let it go everytime because I know he doesn't mean it.

Except for some but still. HAHA.

He's really one of my bestest best friends, and I'm proud to call him that really. From that stocky guy I knew when I was 13, to the metrosexual crooner that has gotten girls weak in the knees, Amber has changed. No wait, evolved.

And that's just another reason why I love that best friend of mine.

To be honest, I wanted to do something special for the freshly eighteen guy, but then just decided to settle for a dinner at Seoul Garden. I was reluctant, mainly because I just went to Seoul Garden for Nadee's birthday last Sunday. But its okay. I wanted to celebrate with him.

Great thing about it was that he had a great day, so the mood was set and it was right.

The male version of Sex and the City, Amber, Hamid, Presely and yours truly were present. I initially didn't eat much because I didn't think that I should. So I stayed away from rice. (Okay, I had a little bit of sushi.)

It was really fun; we haven't met for 2 - 3 weeks as a group so it was definately a refresher. We ate quite a lot and apparently, Presley planned them to bring out the cake. They surprised him by coming out with the cake and sang him the birthday song!

My phone was just too stupid to respond to my perpetual clicking to even start recording.

Watch the video! :D
(AND I KNOW I WAS LOUD, LET ME BE! HAHAHA)

[P200808_19.16.jpg]
Amber made a mess of the cake. He can't freakingly cut a cake. LOL. The cake practically toppled over. LOL.

[P200808_19.18.jpg]

[P200808_19.17.jpg] [P200808_19.24.jpg]

Ahh yes, we ate there for about 2 - 3 hours before heading to Esplanade rooftop, just a tradition and practice we've kept.

I made Amber a card too, and it featured our photos but I guess that's just for his eyes only. Best friend mah! HAHA. I guess I said a lot more on my blog tonight.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself tonight though I think I won't be eating until dinnertime tomorrow. HAHA.

GOODNIGHT LOVES.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER! :D

The One Before You Left Me So...
Friday, July 25, 2008 11:10 pm

Today, I celebrated this girl's birthday with two of her other friends. That's right! I celebrated my adik's birthday with Hairul and Aini! YEAH! It was super fun! We ate at Seoul Garden @ Tampines Mall, sponsored by the working woman herself. It's been a long time since I had so much fun with Grace!

Some photos today are edited. Quite wonderfully done, I must say. They look like they were taken using some special cameras!

Aini and Grace; my life long grrlfriends!

My bestest best friend forever Hairul. OH gosh. I look wrong.

She cooks, the other burns.

Then night fell and we kept reminiscing about the old times and the fun we used to have. We laughed so loudly, we couldn't give a damn what our neighbours think. We were just four friends that haven't met together as one big group for nearly a year (Grace haven't met us in centuries) and it was honestly refreshing.

We decided to use Macky to preserve the moment.

We had to use Macky because all our phones recorded lousy quality. LAWL. Not on the video though. Only moments after I cut the camera off.

Grace: My present leh?
Me: WAIT LAA!

LAWWWWWWWWL. PWNED!

She did strangled me when I said her birthday was on Monday though.

Shuffling seats. There's a good reason why...

I needed Grace to sit here.

All because...

Please ignore our flat voices and Hairul's lameness.

The amount of clutter. There's more laa actually.

Blahness. Aini is so stubborn. I told her not to pose like that. And please ignore Hairul's lameness, please.

"Enjoying" her cake. HAHA.

We finished dinner at about 9.30PM, so we had a 3 hour long dinner. Fantastic. Though I didn't over eat, I know I was really full. HAHA. After eating, we decided to chill at the Open Plaza and take some photos there. They're really a nice bunch.

The birthday girl. :)

Hairul, Aini and Me.

Aini just looks damn flawless here. I had to delete Grace and I out.

The very whacky BBFF of mine. :)

This photo was supposed to be Aini and I, but I moved the camera too fast and Grace was actually hiding in the back. Came out a masterpiece, no?

Just the AS girl. :)

Seoul Food.

Ahh! Accidental Photography, love it. Looks like those cameras, no? And it was really coincidental!

Last photo, you can pretty much tell that I love playing with colours.

I really had a great time tonight :D I won't say anything else, the videos and photo say a lot more. However, I have a bonus video today too. While Aini and Grace when to the ladies, I got Hairul to do a cooking show! Check it out!

Tom Yam Seoul Garden.

P/S: Grace, don't forget to check Dont-Cha on Monday Wednesday! :D LOVES YA!

Comment Questions of the day:
1) What do you think of the edited photos? :D:D Yes/Yes?
2) When's the last time you reunited with your secondary school friends? How was it?
3) Seoul Garden is expensive. What are YOUR alternatives? (I swear, if Grace didn't sponsor, my cheapskate ass would go to Banquet. LAWL!)
4) If you could, would you do a cooking show? Nothing like Hairul's, of course.
