Zulkarnain Sadali. I'm nineteen but I tend to forget so I unknowingly tell people I'm eighteen. Ridiculous, I know. I'm a rockstar in between the sets, no eyeliner and cigarettes. Life is magical, but its not so fantastic. Oh.

A student in Temasek Polytechnic's IIT School, majoring in Interactive Media Informatics, (IMI) with intentions of making it in the Media industry, a far cry from anything in IT. But I'm open to its possibilities.

I like to leave a little mystery in everything I type, and certain times I do not like to be obvious. I rather speak in tounges and cryptically because that's how I roll. But I always stand by my beliefs.

Just like Hannah Montana, I get the best of both worlds. I like fun but I don't mix anything together. Except when socialising though. Anything goes.

I'm a good boy, most of the times. Of course I shan't deny. I can be a real devil.

I repeat, I stand by my beliefs. If you don't like it, then you should put a red X on it.

Surprised? This is my 33rd layout. The 41-month long run of DONT-CHA.blogspot.com spawned many layouts, from graphic art to vectors, to very narcissistic ones.

The layout is based on Lady GaGa's video, Poker Face. The layout goes hand-in-hand in promoting her debut album, The Fame.

As a writer, I accept constructive criticism. However, as a person, I do not appreciate disrespectful and hurtful comments to me, my family, friends and/or but not limited to anyone that I speak of on my blog.

I do not guarantee that you will like everything that I read/say on DONT-CHA, but my intention is to entertain.

Please respect my work and my blog and kindly do not steal ANYTHING written/posted on my blog. It is deemed theft. If you want to use something, please just ask. This includes my profiles on FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube including but not limited to Friendster. I usually say yes.

Sacrifice, Literally

I'm sacrificing my rest days from school and I'm sacrificing my sleep. All to see Panic and Alicia in August. I'm really excited. I'm working graveyard shift and it's been alright. It isn't the best job and honestly, it's an eye-opener. I shall elaborate on that another day.

I've a few days left before the restart of school, and quite frankly, I miss school and its lesson. I miss seeing my friends but the only thing I don't miss are projects and assignments. Really.

I have four. Programming, Web design, Design & Computer Systems. Only the latter is a group project but despite having meet up for a meeting yesterday, we didn't do anything. We basically sat down and had a very long conversation. HAHA.

After the meeting yesterday, I went to this course and it was on Script Writing. I initially thought that the whole course was just about how to write scripts and good stories but there's more to it. We are eventually gonna write a script for the musicals in 2009 & 2010! Wohooo! I'm stoked for that, seriously. And I thought my life was lacking drama. HAH.

Can I act in it?

LOL. I'll keep you guys posted. In the meantime, check out this funny advertisment. It's a hot mess, lemme tell you that.

Told y'all it was messed up

I just got back from visiting my junior's rehearsal at Victoria Theater and honestly, my opinion of the musical is rather bleak. It's not because of my director, Mr Elyas, but its rather about the budget. The Principal only put in $3ok for this musical and her expectations are too high. Broadway.

If it was two years ago when over $100k was put it, yeah, Broadway was it. But now?

Ahh, tomorrow is their show, and since the school is too cheap to provide me a complimentary ticket even after I've done everything for them, I'll be doing some backstage work, which I think will be quite fun!

After the rehearsal, Presley, Aini and I went out for dinner and shopping. We ate at Magic Wok (I introduced them the place) and honestly, the food was somewhat fantastic, especially when you introduce the place to your friend, like as if they magically found out and reward you with nicer food. HAHA.

[DSC00078.jpg]
We window shopped around Raffles City until I found River Island and bought shoes! :D I got so ecstatic! Like really, even though it cost me $69! HAHA. I felt very impulsive because they were canvas shoes but the front was pointy so I liked it. HAHA.

Aside from that, I've gotten Photoshop for Macky, and I wanna get other Adobe products as well. I'm really happy, can't you see my Macky smiling? I know I haven't taken photos of Macky, but when I do, it'll be fantastic. HAHA

I know I know, its been years since I last updated. Honestly, I've been very busy with the enrolment forms for polytechnic. I'm almost done, I just need Mummy to sign the various Giro forms and the Tuition Grant.

There's something stopping me though. My panda eyes. Apparently, my polytechnic requires me to take a passport photo of not more that five months old. Therefore, I have to take a new photo soon. Clothes wise, I pretty much know what I should wear but other than that, my panda eyes are really black, you know. Much worst than eye bags.

And I swear I never worked this hard in school. HAHA.

Next week, work is gonna get even more lenient as they will need lesser people at the airport so my supervisors gave me three days off! As good as that might sound, I really want to work. I love my home and I love spending time with my mum, I love the airport as well!

As a matter of fact. I'm blogging at the airport while I'm working. HAHA. I know, it isn't allowed, but how can I resist? Last night I was working hard on the Musical Nite booklets because apparently there were some miscommunication and I had to edit the photos even though they were already sent out for printing. Some complex shxt.

Honestly, I didn't want to bother, but I was reminded of my juniors and thought, "Damn, I'm gonna do this for them," and I got to work. I returned home from work and a long day of relaxing my tired body at the movies with my colleagues/friends.

Perhaps I'll backtrack and blog about that outing once I get the photos from Julz.

Anyway, work today was awesome (I'm in the process of actually working right now) and even though the time moved slowly, I was posted in transit after a marathon of over more than a week at the departure hall. I can honestly jump for joy.

Yesterday also, I disappeared from work for two hours for my medical checkup for polytechnic. I went for an X-ray and my heart is super big. HAHA.

After the checkup, I realised, even for someone who is rather fat, I'm rather fit as well. HAHA.

Note, the previos post was me just posting my feelings. I mean, don't take it too seriously, its not that I'm hung up on anybody, I'm just hung up on myself.

Love y'all loads,
A Pier, T3 Transit

(yes, click for a larger view)

Tension, divas and drama.

That was what it was like working with my juniors at their photoshoot last Thursday. Rushing from work and straight home to get ready, I kept getting messages that someone wasn't coming. Someone had other commitments and someone just couldnt be there. Oh dear.

I didn't care though. I mean, I had to go to work at 4 am, you'd think I'd give a damn if you can't spare 3 hours of your life? Still, most of my juniors were as cute and sweet as buttons and cooperated with me - making the photoshoot a success. :D

Still, it did felt like reality TV doing a photoshoot. For one, there were the gossiping, and then the bxtching. Let's just leave the details out about that one, alright?

Aini was so gracious to have been the official photographer for the shoot. Ben (and you should visit is Flickr) was so nice to drop by and say hello, and to also taken a few behind the scenes shoot. If you do not know, this post is in relation to the post that I look absolutely fucken fantastic. :D

The photos are not fully edited and nor will they be out for final print. Oh did I mention I'm doing this year's booklet for the musical too? Oh dear. Okay, let me recap. I think I left out so many details.

Last year, Mr Elyas (the director) approached me to be his assistant director for this musical. I think its probono, but I do hope to get paid. HAHA. Then I was approached by a few teachers to do the booklet. I think by doing all these may help me in getting extra testimonials and such. :D I'm excited about the Musical and this is the only distraction that I have from my O level and the posting (and such laa eh?) since work isn't doing a very good job.

Anyway, I have to edit almost all the photos since the school hasn't even gotten the costumes ready. Seriously. And then I have to change the colour of certain clothes and then I have to really WERQ and edit to get the stuff right. I mean, the place wasn't set in front of Temasek Poly, no?

Oh and by the way, the first photo above is actually 3 - 4 different photos meshed into one. Did you see that? Most of the following photos (like I said) I never got the chance/time to edit them but the ones Ben has sent were edited; so thanks!

Again, love/hate shxt.

And Aini, the photographer.

I didn't manage to get a picture with Ben because he left quite soon. Of course, there are hundred more pictures. Now I have to get to sleep and get ready for work tomorrow.

As a preview for my next layout, that's what you get. It's more or less than a eye candy graphic treat. There's no models or human being I just wanted it to be sensual because it's pretty much (the song is) about baby making, if you know what I mean.

I've worked hard for the first skin for the new year. I got so fixated. All I know is that I needed a new layout. So I worked and I worked. I got three. Apparently, this is the latest and to me, the fact that it was so simple and with the explosive colours, I could feel its sensuality. Should be up one of these days. :D

Today has been crazy. Well, not in its entirety. I went out for lunch with Hazzy (That's Ms Hazimah to you, and I didn't eat because Mummy bought KFC so I restrained myself to eat in order not to gain weight) and it was fun, she and I got to catch up. :D She went to New Zealand and bought me gifts! LIKE OMG! :D

[DSC07625.jpg]

[DSC07628.jpg]

Ahh yes! Can I please say I love the shirt and the magazine? HAHA. But the magazine is hard to relate to because it's all about women's clothing. Like mad, okay. Plus it's all from New Zealand so hahaha. It's Beyonce. I think whenever Hazzy sees a magazine with Beyonce (especially if she's overseas) she'll get it for me. Siao. HAHA. Well everyone does that anyway.

And the t-shirt is a perfect fit. I love it.

Thank you so much sista-lurp!

Later in the afternoon, I went to Drama just to see how the kids are doing and I was a bit disappointed because there wasn't like a real rehearsal today. So, that was sad. I wanted to do real assistant director work, you know. Not just sit around waiting for things to happen but I did have a talk with the kids (for like a minute) but it was great.

I hope this year's musical will be a blast :D

After Drama, I went out with Presley to go meet Amber and Hamid for dinner at Banquet. I couldn't help but give a visit to my friend Dominic at work. HAHA. I sneaked from the back and just tapped his sides. Haha. He laughed and said, "don't scare me like that!"

Haha. So after that the five of us just went for dinner and it was a quick one. Dominic had to leave first because of work committment and the rest of us just walked around and I wanted to shop for a pair of running shoes. I got this.

[DSC07626.jpg]

I totally love it laa can? It's the new adiZero Mana and it cost me a ton! It costs $141 and it totally killed my DBS account laa okay! Now I'm broke but wearing this shoe (even just looking at it) inspires me to lose all the weight. So it's all good.

When we almost reached home, Hamid remembered he has a friend working at Royal Sporting House who could possibly give me 40% discount. How I wanted to kill Hamid there and then.

Still, I know it's worth the investment. I shall make it worth my money.

And you know what? Ever since I got the Rubik's Snake (and posted about it), people have been coming up to me and asking me to buy. HAHA. So far I have three orders. I think I should sell it at a profit. HEHE.

Oh and I'm starting a webdesigning (freelance) company by myself to support myself (of course) when I know I can't find a job. Tsk. Why aren't employers treating me like the gift that I am?! Total diva moment, but it's something I shared with Dominic. Long story. HAHA.

I need money for needs, apparently not wants. And I want a damn job at a CD shop.

Sorry didn't update yesterday. My mind was blank - and so was my heart. Goodnight, loves.

Rubik
Saturday, January 05, 2008 10:03 pm

[DSC07617.jpg]
After visiting many toy shops, magic shops and very weird looking shops, I finally found the number one gift on my birthday wish list (which I only put out once a year) and also on this blog post. I searched high and low, to many Toys-R-Us outlets, shops around Orchard, but never once did I know that I could find the Rubik's Snake...

IN MY VERY OWN NEIGHBOURHOOD.

Yes. Can you believe it? I actually searched practically all over Singapore - and it ends up at 5 minutes walking distance from my house. Of course, it's not the original one that I wanted on birthday wish list, but this will have to do. I got so excited, I bought two. I think I'm gonna buy more because I'm afraid the two that I got would break.

So if you get me the original Rubik's Snake, that will do.

My obsession started on one of the days that I was at Singapore Poly. We had this Maths day thing and I got the 'Most Enthusiastic' award for my group. Yes,

Zul + Maths + Enthusiasm = Rubik's Snake Obsession.

So blame Maths for this obsession of mine. I got so orgasmic on the Rubik's Snake that I managed to complete a sphere (the picture up there) in less than 20 seconds. My target is less than 10 seconds but it's kinda hard because I tend to get panicky when I twist one of the wedges the wrong way.

Oh well.

Everyone's on their Rubik's Cube, so far, I only see me fiddling with the Snake.

Today, I was back in BNSS for the CCA Open House and it was quite fun. I got to meet a lot of the new batch of Sec One students and since I am out of BNSS, I got the kids to call me Mr. Zul (and so was Ms. Aini) and some went to the extent of calling me, "T'cher!" So it was fun role playing with the kids and some of them got talent. Potentially enough to overthrow yours truly.

Oh who are we kidding! Overthrow me? PUH-LEASE.

LAWL.

I love my Rubik's Snake. I'mma look up on the internet to check up on the other shapes I can form and probably form some of my own. Oh, I love it.

*I'mma - I might.

Tonight's not much, I know - I'm too tired from today. LAWL!

Take A Look
Friday, November 23, 2007 8:12 pm

[DSC07191a.jpg]

So what does it feel like to be immortalized in a big ass S? Feels great. It's also cool that Drama is above Band, which kinda makes us a bigger deal for some reason. HAHA!

I'm sorry, I always wanted to type that. HAHA. So let me type it again. It's also cool that Drama is above Band, which kinda makes us a bigger deal for some reason.

I find that it's cool that they used only one picture of us, there's only like five cast but it is unfair they failed to feature the backstage crew of four. It's okay. Even though Drama has only been given to post only one picture, it's a fact that our picture is the best.

Most dramatic, most model-esque and best lighting.

We were all standing under one spotlight looking up; as though look up to the heavens.

[DSC07191b.jpg]

Then I realised. We were all looking up Aliff's ass! The thought kills me but I swear that there is a conspiracy against us Drama Mamas. You can use Band's pictures a million times, that's fine. But would it kill you to place us or Aliff at a proper position?

HAHA. I took it as a joke people. Don't get mad for me.

But about that conspiracy against Drama Mamas. Oh it's real.

HAH.

Well, regardless, the reason why I spotted this was because I was called down to the school by Ms Yong to help out with the school's musical next year, The Sound of Music and due to my (how you say) expertise (chey) at photoshopping and what not, the school has chosen me again to HELP OUT, (not to work) and design posters and brochures for the show.

I willingly agreed because I love doing it and it's something good to add to my resume. I'm coming up with a few concepts and the due date is very far, plus the fact the school hasn't even arranged a photoshoot for the students so I can't really start any work. What I do have is my concept for the brochure.

There's going to be a pullout, (which was my idea, HAH!) and this time, I really wanted to be in-charge of this brochure so that I get full credit. (HAH!) The most important thing is that I want everyone to be featured; no one gets left behind.

I'm still stoked that Mr Elyas chose me to be his assistant.

More testimonials for me!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

(Ms Loo said I might get paid for the latter position! YES. Though it isn't confirmed.)

I awesomely love my life at this moment and I'm trying my best to put all resentment aside. Just so you know, being next to an old friend today, the feeling was refreshing. I don't want to elaborate because it's a tad bit personal for me but when I was praying today, I don't know why, but I kept hoping that everything would be put aside (the resentment laa) between me and this friend of mine. I think I'm ready.

I think.

Anyway, I got the job! YAY FOR ME!

I have to report for work tomorrow at the warehouse to pack the products; work will be for ten hours, and I hope if we do a good job, our dismissal time would be cut!

AND YOU KNOW! (IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!)

From the 29th November to 2nd December, Sitex will be holding their annual IT exhibition and I will be at one of the two counters by the company I worked for. (I suck because I can't remember the name of the company.

So if you guys are free, please visit me and buy some of our products! I will be grateful if you guys came and say hello or smtg!

And readers, if you do see me, please don't call me, 'that Dont-Cha guy', be friendly and call me Zul. 'That Dont-Cha guy' resounds in my head sometimes and it sounds bleh. Someone called me that; I was like, "you read my blog and you didn't bother to get my name?"

Admission is free, so come, support me and make me look like a good, amiable salesman. Those who do so will be loved forever and ever!

LOVES!

Good Witch Bad Witch
Saturday, November 17, 2007 1:04 pm

In an attempt to disguise my sorrows these past few days (not from working but rather unbloggable issues) I have made the conclusion that the story of The Wizard of Oz is a rather sadistic one rather than something you can learn from and enjoy these lessons that the writer tried to put it out however, in my opinion is unsuccessful.

I got hold of the script (since I worked with Bukit Panjang Primary School (BPPS) for this production) and initially I didn't bother reading it but because there so much time of doing nothing, I fell into compulsion of reading it and turns out the story is, I repeat, sadistic. Or at least, morally incorrect.

First, when Dorothy's house was 'magically' transported by a hurricane (or tornado, sling either if you will) and the house was dropped onto the Wicked Witch of the East, (WWE, lawl) the people of Munchkinland (the place where the house dropped) celebrated; with no hesitation! They even got the coroner to check if WWE is actually dead to celebrate even more! What does that tell us kids?

Does that mean that when somebody bad dies, you show no compassion that you celebrate? With singing and dancing? Tell you the truth, there was not even a moment of silence for WWE. Isn't she also God's creation and should be treated equal regardless of the bad things she has done?

Then the Good Witch of the North, Glinda came, which she joyously announced the start of the celebration of the death of WWE. What a Good witch. Really.

Next was that Glinda told Dorothy to wear the red shoes and follow the yellow brick road. This is the next mistake. How can you let a CHILD walk around in a place she has never even been ALONE? That's like asking her to be kidnapped by whoever she may meet along the way. Are kids to be taught that its okay for them to go somewhere they have never been before without adult supervision? Dorothy had to follow the yellow brick road but went through the forest and stuff. Where is the adult responsibility?

Ideed absent.

So along the way, she came across Scarecrow, which in the basis of friendship, is okay. The Tinman, fine by me. The Lion? The more the merrier! But she is a little child who came across what seems to be three middle-aged men. Why even if they're not human beings, what is supposedly the messaged that they sent to kids? Make friends to whomever seems nice? For all we know, when with the three stooges, Dorothy probably had to put her hand in between her legs when she sleeps to avoid getting raped. If she is smart enough. And if she did, would they have shown it to the kids?

No. I don't think so.

It's like this movie wants kids to expect the good out of people without precautionary measures. I know what you are thinking, 'the story isn't real!' but the message is. Kids can take things the wrong way; and honestly, may actually carry it out.

But I digress.

So they finally met the Wizard and he requested that the Fantastic Four bring him the crystal ball of the Wicked Witch Of The West (WWW) whom in the earlier part of the show threaten to 'take care' of Dorothy because she killed WWE. And guess what?

Dorothy is a murderer. Although WWW did put her in jail and threaten to burn the Scarecrow, what right has she to kill WWW? I thought it was good for someone to not do a bad deed to a bad person regardless the situation? So it's okay to kill.

Get your parangs people, and get your freakum on.

So after successfully murdering WWW, she goes back to the Wizard's castle and here's the thing. Everyone there is under the rule of the Wizard but the Wizard himself turn out to be a fraud! He is nothing but something insignificant (so insignificant, even with the script I can't figure out what he really is.) that has got everybody under his power because he is 'mysterious'.

So people, get to know the fraudulent and mysterious assess. They'll be so powerful, they'll rule your life.

Along with that, the finale kills me. All the three stooges got what they wanted. A brain, a heart and courage. (Even with that, the Wizard's reasoning is invalid, he just has the charisma part down, that is probably what made him powerful in the first place, just like any con man conning some old lady at the void deck with 'power stones'.

He couldn't get proper way to send Dorothy home, so in a way, Dorothy was going to be stuck there. Then, Glinda arrives. Hopes for Dorothy to be sent home could materialize. She says, "oh will you help me? Can you help me?"

"You don't need to be helped any longer. You've always had the power to go back to Kansas"

So why put her in the position of going through hell, almost getting killed by WWW? Why not tell her in the first place when she got there?

"She wouldn't have believed me. She had to learn it for herself"

I was like, WHAT? She was carried from Kansas to some foreign land by a HURRICANE and actually lived. How can she have not believed if Glinda told her in the first place that she had the power to go home? The WWW threatened to kill her, she appeared, disappeared, out of thin air. If I was Dorothy, and told that the only way for me to go home was to lick the underside of a munchkin's shoe, I'd do it!

Ridiculous.

I repeat, I know the story is for kids but the story is just preposterous. It's stupid too.

They cut this scene in BBPS version, but in the end, the anti-climax was that everything was a dream. I tell you, it's stupid.

I loved working though. It was as though I was a freeloader. Everything was free and I had to do a simple job. It's really like taking the money from someone's pocket and going home to sleep. Now I need to get another job. HAHA

Yellow Brick Road

[DSC07039.jpg]

So today was the first time I am
WORKING!

Yes, the blogger superstar landed his first ever paid job. (Don't call me conceited with me saying that!) Yes! And guess where I am working?

VICTORIA THEATER!

What is the production?

WIZARD OF OZ!

For what school?

BUKIT PANJANG PRIMARY SCHOOL!

Yes and what do I do?

FOLLOW SPOTTING!

What is it?

Well, basically, I just have to sit all day long and do pretty much nothing but just pay attention and follow the actors on where they go. It's to manual control the light and which direction it shines. No programming, no buttons. All manual.

Simple?

Well, sort of. I kinda got the hang of it so I really love the job. It pays a lot of moolah (or money) so I'm really stoked. It's not a permanent job, rather, it is only for three days. Worth it to me.

Initially, the ones who received the offer was Presley and I but Presley is currently on a business trip, so Aini took up the job. So with that, today, Aini and I was told to report at 10 a.m.. We arrived half an hour earlier and there was so much confusion.

[DSC07002.jpg]

Our manager (for this particular section) was Mr Thomas. He is from the same company, ETC Singapore as my director, Mr Elyas. Mr Thomas was very nice although he himself was late, though it was okay. Aini and I got to talk and talk and talk like crazy.

I hope the tabs were already running.

Anyway, when Mr Thomas arrived, Aini and I helped carry out all the equipment we need. The lights, the microphone, all under ETC. It was kinda heavy but I kinda got used to it. We brought the lights up to this very high place in the theater, at level five but no one was there, it was pitch black and it was really creepy but nonetheless, I starve for the experience.

[DSC07004.jpg]

So this is our workstation. We sit there and just wait for instructions. Simple task, really. After setting up the lights and learning the basics of the usage, it was time to head on down backstage to just chill.

[DSC07005.jpg]

So we went backstage where they were fixing the flyers (where they hang the props and it can go up and down) and it looks amazing but rather heavy. It wasn't light and really looked bulky; over-the-top, so to say.

While chilling, Mr Thomas asked if we could find another guy to come down to do work. I recalled Hamid needing the money so I called him up; he was my first choice. He came down faster than you can ever say supercalafragalisticexpialadocious without reading this 50 times first.

Hamid soon arrive (after lunch) and I showed him the works.

[DSC07006.jpg]

Hamid got the hang of it and he picked the one on stage right (normal left) and me, vice versa.

[DSC07025.jpg]

That was how small the stage looked from our workstation. So we basically lazed around till up to 4 pm, and until then was when we got to our workstation and manned the follow spots. Rehearsals finally started and the kids started swarming the stage. I had to constantly shine on Dorothy while Hamid has to shine on the other characters.

Rehearsals was fun because (from the first picture you can see) we all had to wear intercoms. Basically the director, stage manager, sound crew, the flyers (the bars, refer to picture five) and many others could hear each other speak and what. While the kids were having rehearsals, there were some Malay guys saying,

"SUARA CARTOON SIOL!"
That kid's voice is like cartoon!

Everybody listening were laughing! Most of us had our headset microphone on. Aini ran up to our workstation and said, "WE HEARD YOU PEOPLE TALKING FROM DOWN THERE!" Immediately, I said, "it's not us! It's them!" and I let her hear their jokes. She was laughing like hell.

[DSC07043.jpg]
Rehearsals went up to six and Aini got to leave early because the kids had to leave the place asap because... They're kids. Not like us; can stay up so late. HAHAHA. Aini, now that she didn't have to do follow spots, took charge of the microphone, to keep it and to help the kids use the microphones properly. She was under sound so she could leave early.

Hamid and I weren't so lucky.

We went out for dinner, came back by 7.15 pm and slacked all the way till 8. We thought we had work up till 9 pm, but our stage manager said, "You guys can leave; I think the configuration for spotlights on stage will take a longer time."

So we left.

Work was really fun laa seh. I cannot stop but think it's going to be good for the next two days. Tomorrow is the show for parents and on Friday night is the show for parents and VIPs.

WISH ME LUCK!
and I so don't want to say how much I'm paid. HAHA
AND SERIOUSLY, this is like the first job EVER for me. Serious.

I'll leave you with a picture I took of this guy that works with the stage manager. Artistic giler dok!

I felt the clock ticking as I waited for my turn to get in the control room. FireBlaze was doing their skit and I thought to myself, "what if I mess up? what if I do badly?" True, it isn't my first time directing, but I didn't want to mess up either. I put my hands on Rui Qin's palms as my hands started to shiver. Fireblaze was up to their last scene! What to do, what to do?!

Ask Aini for help, I thought to myself. I brought her into the control room, she controlled the powerpoint presentation whilst I controlled the sound. Then, the host exclaimed that it was time for SolarPower to take place on stage.

I got worried; what if Aslam forgot his lines? What if the dance do not work? What if... What if... It seemed as though "what if's" kept popping in my head like those pop-up ads that stay adamant on one's computer.

"Don't forget to breathe," I remembered advising the actors earlier; and it seemed like I did not take my own advice. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly and told myself to have fun.

First mistake! A missing microphone! Using two wireless microphones was a good idea for easy movement, but the introduction was ruined, but my actors were smart. They attempted to project their voices - and it worked. Well, kind of.

Most of the things that was potrayed on stage was carefully executed. I did not expect them to perform so well! Nazurah had great eye contact with the audience and they really enjoyed it.

Well, it seemed that way. On my side things I was shivering up and Aini clicked the mouse button when I told her to. It was hard as I was too anxious! Aslam covered up his mistakes as he claimed, but I could not differentiate his lines and mistakes even though I wrote the script.

As they took their bows, I left the control room and Rui Qin said to me, "Zul, it's good!" I smiled and thanked her and left to see the actors backstage. Then, I was quite nervous at what was the consequence of having other houses having quite humourous skits. Honestly, the other houses had very funny scripts and concept on stage but what I was banking on was a solid story with a clear picture.

I whispered to my actors, "if we don't win, that's okay. Bottom line is that all of you had fun and did great on stage!" I just told myself that now their performance is over, all I have to do now is leave it up to the judges to make their decision.

After all the performances was over, including the annual "hey we do this ever year" community singing, the results were on. "Aslam, pick the award. You're the star today," I told him.

"And in fourth place," the host mentioned; and by this time, I could have sworn we would have gotten last.

"TIDALWAVE!"

Immediately I looked at Aina and we had that, "oh gosh, there's hope" look written all over our faces.

"And it third..." wishfully thinking it wasn't our group, "AMAZONGREEN!"

Then, all of us started screaming so loudly, maybe this was it - we have a chance, it's between Fireblaze and us.

"Second place... FIREBLAZE!"

Our eyes just started to light up and it took us two seconds to realise that we won first! I started screaming so loud, at the top of my lungs and all of a sudden a group of girls looked at me with that piercing stare and I just screamed, "Look, I'm just excited we won okay!" After which I started screaming once again!

Aslam walked up and collected the prize. SolarPower won first. I'm so happy that my efforts were paid off! I did not collect a medal for myself because I'm doing this as a personal fulfillment; I really love Drama and directing is one of my thing.

I'm really proud of them! I really am. And to get first? It was not only my effort! Even though they did the "I'm not worthy" but ultimately, everyone did great!

First, babeh!

[DSC07870.jpg]

Aina rushes to tear the wrapper open.

The chocolate we got. :)

After everything was over, I had to go for Social Studies test that I know I will not score well for. I was literally writing CRAP a million times. I do not want to talk about that. After the test, I met up with all my friends at McDonald's to eat some stuff and then I just went to chill with loads of people, though camwhoring was minimal.

A lot of people were there, but mentioning everybody would be too much. There were like 20 people there? Like Hairul, Mallies, the whole team laa.

Aslam and I just fooling around

[DSC07876.jpg]
Eddy and I. He is very sexy, lol.

[DSC07879.jpg]

Camwhoring at 7-Eleven is so fun!

[DSC07881.jpg]
Did I mentioned he's sexy? LMAO.

[DSC07887.jpg]
Sorry, I bullied Raiswan.

The day was great, and to top it all off, I have four days of no school! YAY-ME!
LOVES!

[simpson+me.jpg]

Ahh yes, that is Zulkarnain Sadali if he were to visit the town of Springfield. Want one? Go get it here.

Don't ask me about school. School has been sucky recently and with the presence of some forgetful and imbecilic person(s), yet, I have made it through the week, well and alive. School has truly been hard on me, especially the National Education (NE) Competition.

As you know, I am the director again this year and quite frankly, it's a tough job. I don't know how Mr. Elyas does it. NE is though, especially you have to cancel all rehearsals because your main star has Band practice and the director has too much of school.

This year's NE is also another acting skit; Go Global, Stay Rooted.

Ahh yes, my star for this year's NE competition is Aslam; and I have to tell you, he's good - but can do so much better. Still I have hopes in him, and whatever results we get, I'm still proud of him.

Not forgetting my other actors as well, I am very proud of them, who stayed back almost everyday after school to rehearse, with or without me, and Aina for being such a great assistant director.

I am tired because yesterday I was at my cousin's wedding and tomorrow's the reception. Right now, I'm kind of nervous because the O level results will be coming out on Monday!

DEAD.

In a day of an actor.
personally, I hate make-up. It's hot (and its not the good kind of hot) and it makes my face feel heavy. Flawless though.

Today was the performance at Arts House and frankly, I liked the audience at Hwa Chong's Encore Performance more than today's. Today was dead and the audience were just mediocre. Still, we did have a nice experience since there was a talk back session after our performance.

One of the questions posted was that how was the script written and I answered on behalf of my team.

"Well, our director told us to write a 3 - 5 minute monologue about our feelings and our passions and basically he meshed all our ideas together and it became what we all imagined. It was right."

Another asked, based on Shaikh's scene (of being a ballet dancer), would you go against your parents if they don't allow you to pursue your arts?

The host asked everyone who would do so and many of them agreed. To that, I answered, "I think its okay to go against your parents for your passions, because at the end of the day, if your parents love you, they will be okay with it; accept you flaws and all."

I liked my answer. OOPS.

When everything was done, the team headed out to Marina Square for lunch and we just ate at KFC and surprisingly I couldn't finish what I bought and I just gave em to Mallies. LOL.

Some pictures to entertain you while I wait for Andrea to send me more from her camera! Grace was so nice to come, her birthday is coming soon. HAHA.

[DSC07673.jpg]
And on our way home, we saw the aftermath of such a massive accident. LOL. It's funny how an accident can make people drop everything and just take time out to watch like crazy. LOL.

Oh, and I saw this at HMV. I totally had to get it because it was only $10! WOHOO!
[DSC07674.jpg]

Last picture of the day (before Andrea sends me even more pictures) I took a very inspirational picture of Mallies. He was artistic and he was drawing while waiting for a movie screening at the Arts House earlier today. Simply marvelous.
