Zulkarnain Sadali. I'm nineteen but I tend to forget so I unknowingly tell people I'm eighteen. Ridiculous, I know. I'm a rockstar in between the sets, no eyeliner and cigarettes. Life is magical, but its not so fantastic. Oh.
A student in Temasek Polytechnic's IIT School, majoring in Interactive Media Informatics, (IMI) with intentions of making it in the Media industry, a far cry from anything in IT. But I'm open to its possibilities.
I like to leave a little mystery in everything I type, and certain times I do not like to be obvious. I rather speak in tounges and cryptically because that's how I roll. But I always stand by my beliefs.
Just like Hannah Montana, I get the best of both worlds. I like fun but I don't mix anything together. Except when socialising though. Anything goes.
I'm a good boy, most of the times. Of course I shan't deny. I can be a real devil.
I repeat, I stand by my beliefs. If you don't like it, then you should put a red X on it.

Surprised? This is my 33rd layout. The 41-month long run of DONT-CHA.blogspot.com spawned many layouts, from graphic art to vectors, to very narcissistic ones.
The layout is based on Lady GaGa's video, Poker Face. The layout goes hand-in-hand in promoting her debut album, The Fame.

(thanks Nic!)
Dear readers
Camp has been going well and I know I haven't Twittered that much. Anyway, I've met some freshmen that was such a pleasure to know.
Anyway, I'm one of the orientation leaders for the kids in Diploma in Financial Business Informatics (FBI) and they're cool but when I started out with the camp I wanted to be with the kids from my couse, IMI, but oh well.
However, the kids from FBI proved not to be a disappointment! They were great with the station games, performances and well... Pretty much any activity going on.
Its just that somehow, because of the camp, I seem to have forgotten MOST of my troubles with school, home and everything else that I have going on so I'm thankful for that.
(BTW, thanks Renga for letting me use your Mac to update this.)
Its been a hell of a roller coaster ride, in terms of my academic shiznit, mainly because I failed OOPG last semester and have to retake it once more. I'm okay with that, but the thing is, I'm deprived of a new module, Introduction to 3D.
That sucks.
On the flipside, I am excited because I'm joining other classes. One class is Luqman's class and I'm cool with it since I'm cool with his classmates. The other class, Renga's class, can be quite a challenge.
I am going to appeal and ask for Intro to 3D to be added despite the already tight schedule.
GAH.
Anyway, I am in camp now. This has got me quite the attention.
No, it's not a soft toy, it's my bag! HAHA.
DAMN ADORABLE! Well, he is my childhood friend.
Anyway, if you've been following my Twitter these past few months, I've been saying "training this" and "training that". Well I know I haven't announced what I'm training for, but...
I've been training for...
DRAGON BOAT!
YES. and I have a race today. Wish me luck guys.
See you all real soon again with photos and videos.

Athletes are superhuman. They run as fast as a cheetah (an exaggeration, but you get my point) and they're focused on their focus. Reaching the finish line - first. How I know?
I've been in school almost everyday this week and my training schedule always coincide with the athletes from track and field. I'm very... How you say, loud. So when they were running laps, I can't help but show my support.
"GO JOE! GO FIRDAUS!"
I screamed as the two fellas ran past. They did not even budge or stop, or even too a jiffy to turn and wave. They just went on. This, assuming that they're concentrating. They just ran and they had their poker face on.
They just zoomed right past me and it was as if everything in the world blurred out except for the finish line. And they weren't slow either, they went for the kill, and they were like assassins.
Its weird for me because its hard for me to concentrate when I run. Its either this muscles aches, or spasm's afoot, or someone really hot just passed me by, whatever the reason might be, I'm always distracted.
And let's not get started with the gym. Too many hot people hovering around reminding you that you look like crap. Seriously.
I don't know how athletes do it to focus during exercise, but I think I might have to plaster this image in my head whenever I exercise.
With that image of me in my head when I exercise, I think I can focus better, no? I've was in the geem (LOL I ACTUALLY SPELT IT THAT WAY) on Monday, Wednesday and today too, with tomorrow my day in the gym already planned.
But all I can say is I'm more or less focused when I'm in the gym. Of course, with the exception of ogling at people and secretly envying and hoping to bodysnatch them and operate my face on to theirs, I find I'm alright in the gym.
Today's gym session with Hairul and Danish helped, I trained up a bit. Follow me on Twitter. I usually update when I'm in the gym. Hah.
I think I've reached the stage that I can't lose weight so I have to gain muscle mass. Or whatever the proper term is. I still want to lose weight, and perhaps gain more height. 1.8m would be a dream, man.
Manchester Or Arsenal?

Interestingly enough, today I shared a conversation with a friend about soccer. Most notably how Arsenal rules over Manchester, but that's besides the point.
He said something so epic that I have to share it.
"My dad swore that he saw a birthmark of Man U's logo on my arm when I was born."
I laughed like mad. It was obvious that he is a huge fan of Man U, but what was the reason why?
They played good? They have an awesome history? They have great players? They're rich? He gave me all the reasons but then I thought, was there a deeper reason? Perhaps there is.
Their fathers. Notably, most guys (or people in general) support a specific football club (or any team for that matter) mainly because of their fathers. I could relate how excited my Dad was watching an Arsenal (YEAH!) match and I remembered we bonded.
Now, I'm the LAST person you want to talk about soccer to, but I guess that's where my likeness for soccer (or even Arsenal) came from. My Dad. Bragging about Samir Nasri or Thierry Henry (who left for Barcelona) as if they were his own sons.
But with that, my Dad talking about them, I felt more connected to him. Like a whole side of him opened. A passionate side (other than the passion for my Mum, EWW but sweet) for soccer and that's where I learned more about him.
I even bought him an advanced birthday gift - an Arsenal 2009 calendar last year.
Some people support a team because of a choice, a valid one. But supporting a team because it was something passed down from his/her father, I think, is solidly awesome, it's special.
So the next time you poke fun of someone who supports Manchester United, think. Is he supporting by choice or is it something special that a boy shares with his father.
(If its the former, please continue to poke fun)
Now remember, I'm not the best person to talk to about soccer, but the only reason why Arsenal got that position was that they know that they're the best. They're giving Man U time to shine. If not, explain the Liverpool match, 4-1, ON HOME GROUND. How can you even lose that?

So if you haven't heard (or don't really care), Singapore won the bid to host the first ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG)!
Being the very unexpectedly patriotic son of a gun, I was highly ecstatic, screaming up and down and shattering the ceiling of the residents living a storey below. Singapore actually won the bid, I honestly...
Expected it.
With it being the case, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) by far has no choice but to choose Singapore as the host country for the YOG. Why? Remember back in 2005 when the IOC held a huge ass meeting in Singapore? It was to select the host city for the Summer Olympics 2012. Remember when Beckham who came here and jumped all over our television screen when London was announced the winner to host the 2012 games even though Beck has nothing to do with the Olympics, ever?
It wasn't exactly because of that, however, it was the safety that Singapore can ensure to the IOC that really (I feel) the youths that will be coming here to participate in the YOG will feel the same way. Plus, they're building a whole fxcking village for them.
Just like 2005, the tourism industry will have a huge boom, and tourism students feel the impact most because its times like these where the respectable internships come from and with the coming of 2010, there will be even more!
And especially the sports kids at sports school or even those Sports Management kids at NYP will benefit the most.
I for one will be sitting in front of my television, again, bouncing the blubber of my stomach at the excitement that is the Olympics that will be held in Singapore. Even though it's for the youth, it is for my generation. Or at least, two years younger.
And all of a sudden, I feel so old.
The Prime Minister left such a heartfelt speech about Singapore coming together and really working (or werq, if you ask me) it out to really get the tourists and visitors listening. We were really screaming, "Look, beyatches, if yous ain't gon give us them Olympics, we ain't gon' give you aid when yous in trouble, aite!"
Well, not really, but Singaporeans really did paste decals in their cars. Various local and international brands were proudly displaying banners to show their support to the 2010 YOG. The Prime Minister did right by saying that we all worked together.
When we were at Singapore Poly for two weeks back in December, I swear, we all wanted to sign that bloody banner but we all kept forgetting to bring our own marker. I also swear whereby I wanted to shamelessly put my blog address on as advertistment. (Since we all know it works. Think the t-shirt. People were pouring in! HAHA!)
By right, it IS a landmark achievement, and honestly, let's put aside SEA. It's a landmark achievement for SINGAPORE! We hosted the first ever ASEAN Games, and now, we're doing the same shxt but a billion times better with the YOG!
I'm proud of Singapore and truly, I am proud to call myself a Singaporean.
What I want is that the country (and that means you, you lazy ass reader sitting on your seat) to stand up and say, "We are hosting the 2010 YOG, damn it! We rock!" Be proud of Singapore! Like these people I spotted on TV singing so happily. (Upon realising the were caught by the cameras of Channel News Asia, all they could do was shy away.)
Honestly, these are the type of girls that we should be proud of (even though they shy. PAISEH, CAN?). They're so patriotic to have sung the song, "Stand Up On Yo Feet Fo Singapore Yo!" We shouldn't be proud of those chicks who parade by Esplanade after hours when you know the only thing open after hours are legs.
Still, I love pride for Singapore. I love Singapore and this is where I would want to stay for the rest of my life.
Unless someone from New York will pay me a million dollars a year, then BYE! But still, this is a place I would want to call home.
