Soccer, Soccer!

A reminiscent post from my secondary four days, I digged into my archives, and I found this. (I shall do more reminiscent posts more soon) and this was the time I was really into soccer and what happened this day was like a once in a lifetime thing. I should have updated my blog about this last year. The archive dated 23 September 2006. That day, instead of blogging about soccer, I blogged about this, the day before we started fasting.

From the eyes of the goalkeeper, this is what you would see. (yes, I do camwhore during my P.E. lesson.)

It was 8.45 am and for the first time in weeks, I was actually doing work in my maths lesson and I overheard a conversation between Adan and Ahmad. They were talking about soccer, and I looked at Ahmad. He rolled up his pants reveal LONG LONG LONG... socks. (what did you think?) I was like, "what the hell?" Adan then revealed his long long long socks, then more and more started to "open" themselves. I was wondering why so many people are wearing those type of soccer socks. Oh, it was because of soccer and that it was the second last P.E. lesson before the N level examinations.

The hype started 3 days before the P.E. lesson itself. Amber told me about the soccer and that to play with the other guys. The day before, Adan and Ahmad told almost everyone to wear long soccer socks. I didn't though. In the first place, soccer socks make my feet hurt. LOL.

So the anticipation started to brew at 9 am, when it was time for P.E.. We assembled in front of Mr Ganesan and we got so excited, so to speak. Initially we had the street soccer court but everyone insisted on the soccer field. So the guys went to the field and started to divide ourselves into 2 groups.

I can't exactly remember which group I was in, I think I was in the Solar/Fire combo so I was in the same group as Ahmad, Hairul, Akmal and Adan (most of Hazard) and Danish was in the other combo, Tidal/Amazon, so okaylaa, you know?

The most memorable thing that happened was that I deflected not one but THREE balls? Call it luck, I still did it anyway. Once I deflected Farhan's ball, and when it did happen, he clapped for me. This incident made me rethink about him - like really rethink laa.

The scariest thought is that you're not even a rookie, you're a newbie and you're the goal keeper and 20-plus people are coming for you, half of which trying to defend position and the other half trying to kill you. LOL. It was fun, really. I loved it laa.

Now, thinking about it, I really wanna start playing soccer again. Well, maybe. I still need to work on my skills.
